Topic: Are you an Organ Donor? | |
---|---|
Some other's and I are talking about it in another thread, and we thought it would be interesting to discuss/debate?
I am an Organ Donor, I feel it would be a great accomplishment to know that I may save someone's life one day. Possibly a sick child, a Veteran, etc.... I would like to encourage all that are capable of being a donor to do so... |

organ donor here
if you wish to donate something life saving now, before you're gone :) you can always donate blood every 60 days...you could also commit a bit more time and donate platelets - takes 2-3 hours to donate platelets but is definitely worth it. just a thought |

Yeap I am to if I am dead and someone needs it why not. The feeling of helping someone else is a good feeling isn't it?

As a primary in the afore mentioned thread, I would also like everyone to consider live donation options. A kidney and a lobe of your liver can be donated while you are living.
Also, those with family members needing transplants but you are not compatible can also sign up with your loved one and the two of you can be matched with compatible donors/recipients. |

Not true!! A totally different team of doctors are brought in to harvest organs. The physician who is charged with saving your life has no horse in that race nor would they benefit from allowing someone to die in order to have their organs. |
