Topic: Sinners Prayer ? | |
---|---|
My Mother and Step-Father recently had a semi-argument about prayer .
Just a little background information : My Mother is not relegious but believes in God . My Step-Father is a "back slid" christian who was once very devoted to his faith . I am Agnostic . Now to the argument ..... during a conversation my Mother mentioned that she had prayed about something that had been bothering her the day before . My Step-Father asked why she bothered to pray since she was a sinner God did not hear her prayers . My Mother talked with me about it later and we agreed that we both thought if there is/were a God he hears all prayers ...... otherwise how would he hear a sinners prayer for salvation ? Is there an on/off prayer listening switch ? Thanks in advance for your responses . |

Your father is right, read John chaptr 9 verse 31...actions speak louder than words meaning he knows whats in our hearts and if your mother was to say a sinners prayer then yes he would listen |

No, Brandy God does not have an On/Off switch. He listens even if you are just talking, not even in traditional prayer,(eyes closed head bowed).

i dont think so...He doesnt always give u the answers that u r looking for...to qoute garth brooks..."some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers" He hears them but He knows better than us...and wont always anwser them..insted of getting upset about it...accept that it'll be shown later in life...the reason why it wasnt answered or u got a diffrent answer than u thought

God hears everyone... even sinners... and believe me- we have all sinned in this life... so no one has not sinned...
He hears your Mom as well as your Father. Your Mother has not sinned so bad that God will not hear her... He is listening... The Lords Prayer is a good start... |

I think God especially hears us sinners prayers! I'm sure the rightous's prayers are heard as well, but, it is we, the sinners, who need to know God listens. As others have said, sometimes it's not the answer we are looking for, but, He does listen.
