dumbest thing I ever did

jr. high I was at an intermural baseball game watching some friends play. A wrestler from my team was watching too and he brought his dog. We went into the woods behind the field to take his dog for a walk. Thats when we saw a rope going from one tree to another over a shallow creek. Leaning up against the tree was a giant piece of sidewalk that had been pulled up from the ground and discarded in the woods. It was leaning up against the tree upside down so all the sharp edges from when the cement was first layed and sank into the soil before hardening were sticking up. And on top of that cement was a belt just laying there. Like it belonged there. We both instantly had the same exact stupid idea. He proceeded to grab the belt and I said and I quote "NO, I want to go first!" also happening to be the dumbest thing I have ever said. But hey I saw this sone in the movie tango and cash so what the heck. I climbed up the cement, up the tree, and slung the belt over the rope. the split seccond I grabed the other end of the belt and put even a little weight on it the leather belt turned out to be a plastic belt that just looked and felt kind of like leather. Snap!!! I fell straight backwards and slamed my back on the cement. My head slung down and hit the most jagged part of the concreete with extra centrifical force. I was knocked out. My buddy was unfortunately the 103 pounder on our wrestling team so carrying me out was not going to happen. He pannics and finally after a few minutes I wake up. He keeps saying I need to keep my hand on my head as we walk out of the woods. I would say ok and then forget and take it off again. He got me to my friends parents and they got me to mine and mine got me to the hospital. The doctor said he's never seen someone survive a blow to the head like that one. and all because I said "me first" lol.
