I am really hoping for a Hillary and Barack ticket for President. I think that they would be a winning combination! I really hope that Hillary chooses Barack as her vice president, or Barack chooses Hillary as his vice president. The Democrats want to bring our troops home from Iraq. If John Mcain or any other Republican wins the presidency do you think that there will be a military draft?

If they tried to pull off a draft at this point in the Iraq war, I imagine all hell would break loose, think Vietnam protests, perhaps much worse. All the candidates know this and I'm fairly sure none of them is stupid enough to call a draft. |

All the candidates know this and I'm fairly sure none of them is stupid enough to call a draft. It wouldn't be nearly that extreme. The overall American mindset is nothing like the Vietnam era. Won't happen. Either way, the draft hasn't been a real consideration of Congress--and it's Congress that makes that call, not the President--since "Gulf War II" started. As for the next White House, my intuition is telling me Romney/Huckabee, though I could be wrong. |
