Love D&D...great game. My brother and I have been playing since the begining. Just picked up a few of the revised editions. Looking forward to seeing the new rules.

True lol I dunno, I figure if 34 year old men need to insult 19 year old men on an online dating site, they have more issues than whatever the actual conversation is about and there's no sense pointing out the obvious lol

Guys, can we tone down the meanness a little? Look, I'll be the first to admit that I don't know anything about D&D, other than that it's a game of some sort -- but I'm seeing some really unnecessary hostility in this thread, and I just don't understand why.

Can we try to be civil here? Or do I have to get some Magical Ninth Level Elf (or whatever they use!) to come here and pour some kind of enchanted dust on everybody?

Lex

The difference there is that Bill Gates wasn't a 19 year old high school drop out.

Once again, check your self my friend, how old are you? Also being a drop out has nothing to do with how much money I could make.

Rather than completing high school, Albert decided to apply directly to the ETH Zurich, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland. Without a school certificate, he was required to take an entrance examination, which he did not pass, although he got exceptional marks in mathematics and physics. Einstein wrote that it was in that same year, at age 16, that he first performed his famous thought experiment, visualizing traveling alongside a beam of light (Einstein 1979).

Who says you have to complete high school to be intelligent? While, okay, I graduated from high school that doesn't make me smarter than say...Albert Einstein. A peice of paper doesn't dictate the level of your intelligence nor does it dictate the accomplishments of your life. Some of the most intelligent, history changing people of the world didn't finish high school.

Z -- the point is, you asked a legitimate question to start off with. You should be allowed to do that without being ridiculed. People can joke around, sure -- fun is fun -- but we have rules about behavior in the forums, and we expect people to abide by them. That's all I'm saying. Nobody is allowed to attack anybody else. It's pretty simple, really. All I'm trying to do is see if it's possible to get this back on track. I hope so....

Well thank you for that, but I'm willing to bet this thread is pretty much dead, so now its basicaly a moot point.

What does my age have to do with anything?

You're both right. Not having a diploma or degree(s) doesn't necessarily mean you can't be successful. Having that piece of paper also has nothing to do with intelligence either. I know alot of people with only a diploma who are quite intelligent. I also know plenty of college graduates who amaze me that they managed to put thier pants on by themselves. Sure, Einstien didn't finish high school and I'm sure few people would disagree that he was nothing short of a genius, but he didn't sit around pretending to be a wizard either.
