It's a tough call for me this year.. I feel for Lisa & Rosco cuz they're yet to finish a bathroom.. oh wait.. they FINALLY finished one this week with the guest ensuite, but I kinda like Adam & Jolene..

Adam & Jolene seem to me to be the underdogs in many ways.. although he IS a Chippy and shes coming into her design style.. they've been smashing it pretty good overall..

Poor Rick having lost out last week due to an infected knee and having to go home, leaving his goofy daughter Tayla who isn't much of a help and doesn't seem ta have much of a design eye alone, lost big time this week even with 2018 winner Spence's help.. she's kinda flakey in my opinion..

absolutely HATE Courtney's laugh and although they seem to be winning a fair bit on their rooms.. they're spending is WAYYYYYYY over the top.. wondering if they'll have any $$ to actually finish their house..

Chantel & Wyatt seem to be smashing it as far as finishing their rooms fast along with the help of the infamous Cursio Brothers, but with Chantels "not adding color - beige bland only" attitude.. she just might lose the whole show..

Aside from that.. I enjoy watching reno/build shows for lotsa reasons.. I love building & designing chit and having the chance to see some awesome teams create some amazing spaces.. is a huge bonus for me.. gives me very creative ideas while finishing my own home renos..

I'm not forgetting the years I spent, working with my dad, while he showed me how to build.. frame walls, paint houses (inside & out), put on cladding, gyprock a wall / ceiling, measure and cut wood, lay flooring, insulate, minor plumbing and electrical, build stairs and ramps.. the list is endless.. and I valued every moment spent with him..

but there's a lot of shows today that give inspiration as well.. I had always hoped to meet that guy that drove a pick-up truck and knew how to build chit.. but that wasn't meant to be.. but I digress lol

some of my fave shows today are:
Fixer to Fabulous
Hometown
Sin City Rehab
Property Brothers: Under Pressure
Property Brothers: Celebrity IOU
Property Brothers: Forever Home etc
Renovation Aloha
Rock the Block
Battle on the Beach
Castle Impossible
Chateau DIY
George Clark (anything)
Holmes on Homes
Zombie house flipping (and other Zombie house reno shows)

and the list goes on.. another cool show I recently discovered is That Thrifting Show

so.. do you like these shows? if yes.. which ones are YOUR faves??

No TV, so cannot contribute though I do recognize a
few shows from YouTube, like George Clark (British
chap ya?) and Holmes on Homes, both great shows ;-)

YAY.. I'm NOT alone laugh

gotcha.. I don't have TV cable or anything like that either.. internet only but.. yes.. George Clark IS british and he's an architect that designs or redesigns homes.. brilliant chap.. Holmes is from Ontario Canada.. he's working with his son and daughter now.. fixing homes that other contractors botch.. very cool show too..

I can spend days watching home improvement shows
on YouTube.

Then I switchout to Bush and off-grid shows.
The mate is used to walking in the door from work
with me asking for a firestarter, I say, we
must get one.

I carry it in my purse ;-)

There's hundreds of them..Bushradical and his wife has Girl in the Woods, lots of off-grid shows from Portugal right now.

cool.. so basically shows about how to live off the grid? I think I saw one.. I believe it was about a group of folks helping those that live in the wilderness.. the episode I saw was a about a couple living in the mountains and having issues surviving.. their solar panels were set up wrong.. I don't remember everything but I remember it was an older man and a 40ish woman that were helping the mountain couple..

it was interesting but didn't seem to catch my attention more than that..

You have to look at old episodes of hers as now she is on a health kick for getting lyme disease and is way off target from building things ;-0

She mostly built small cabins start to finish, all by herself and a good one was either gray or black so you might see it as a pic on her site.

gotcha.. just watched that episode and I tell ya.. I feel her pain'n frustration on getting crap lumber.. whoa I always go into the lumber yard with the guys loading the wood just to make sure anything I get is worthy of building.. has to be straight, clean and NOT warped.. which is really hard to find.. they keep telling me "you get what you get, no choosing allowed" but come one.. if I'm paying for 1st's I want quality.. not crap.. if they're warped.. they're not 1st's.. they're 2nd's or 3rds at best.. when stacking or storing lumber at home tho.. I make sure they're on a completely flat surface and leveled away from any humidity.. nothing worse than getting lumber for a later project only to reach for one when it's time.. to find it's bent outta shape slaphead

anywho.. thanks for sharing Soufie.. much appreciated
