If men and women are equal then why is it alright to make fun of a man's appearance but not a woman's?

Not sure where you have been, but women have been made fun of for their appearance for century's....

It's called code of conduct.
A man does not insult another man's wife.

Women keep their insults to women.

If men and women were treated exactly equal it would only last a week or so. It would mean no afffermative action and everybody gets to duke it out equally. Nobody give anything to anyone. And if someone takes from you then you find them and make it right. If you come up short then there you are. At least you had an equal shot.

Will Smith should NOT have done what he did on national stage? THE black community do have way abusive standards more so than other cultures.. IF a black man insults another black man he will either spit in his face or slap his FACE as Will did..!

STILL decorum should have been followed.. HE could easily have grabbed the microphone and vented his rebuke of CHRIS to put him in his place maybe.. even though I dont recommend it... more appropriate is he should have just grabbed the Microphone and spoke directly to Chris ROCK and said...YOU and I will be discussing this immediately at the break at the BIKE RACKS kinda thing...instead of allowing a million young black youth to witness this unacceptable BLACK culture NORM! Yes no bad names. If someone was to call me or one of mine a name say like Sparkling Crystal for instance I would really take offense. How derogatory can you get. Like they're saying I'm a non Christian hethan dog or worse.

I believe most of you missed the point. Chris Rock was doing COMEDY. You don't like it, don't listen. Attitudes towards what is acceptable to be made fun of is in the dangerous realm of thought policing. Who decides what's funny for ME? I'll admit, I didn't watch the show, just the clip of Will Smith smacking Chris Rock.

At no point should Will have ever gone up on stage. Wife with medical problems or not - he could have settled it after the show if he had a problem with it. Roasts can be funny, and I'll be the first one to admit that people at the roasts are invited, and aware they may be roasted. It is still unacceptable to interrupt a man doing his craft.

Chris Rock took it the best way he could. He could've never expected Will to come up on stage when he wrote the joke - so he had to do some quick thinking on how to handle the situation and I think he did so, marvelously. I think Will came out with the short end of that stick. He winds up looking like the cuck chump he is and probably taking out his cuck frustrations by smacking a dude that didn't bang his wife, instead of the dudes that ran trains on her, with his permission.

I'm not a big fan of Will Smith, and I think this incident just fortifies that position. Not only is he a shlt actor, with even a shlttier kid actor - he's a 6'2 loser that slaps a 5'2 funny guy. What a hero defending his wife. Wonder if she celebrated by getting pounded by some other dude, while he watched

The Oscars made a statement earlier that they are going to Sanction Will in some way. And that they asked him to leave immediately after and he refused.
