Im looking for a totaled dakota 91-96 with the magnum 5.2 or 5.9 and a 727 trans to put in the duster, they are the most modern direct fit engine choices. I also just ordered a hood scoop for it to complete its got muscle looks,
hey lonely, congrats on getting the jeep sounds like a pretty solid find, what year??
share some pics if you can

the Jeep has proven to be pretty AWESOME! but has an electrical drain i havent took time to find, its a 1998, and belongs to female friend.

i want another Jeep, i once worked on a lot at shop i worked at, specialized in Jeeps, mine was crushed by tree few years ago, it was a 2 door, 5 speed, with 4 cylinder, but driving hers made me want 1. I do have a project 4wd, a 1988 GMC originally a V6, has a 350, was automatic, has a granny gear 4 speed, was 2wd, now 4wd, lol, but needs quite a bit fixed on it, and im too broke to fix, plus limited spare time.

the GMC sounds like a fun project, or at least it will be. just seen a Jimmy on a lot for 5G's. but I was more tempted by the 68 cuda formula J sitting next to it for 10 LOL;-).
I think I might need professional, help ;-)

I've been gone a while, a lot of junk fell on my shoulders, the duster is still driving me nuts. turns over strong, but has no fire. I changed everything but the distributer. I'll probably have to take it to the shop, had have them tell me what I have wired wrong LOL
starting to make head way on the Aspen, (I'm stripping the S/E for parts).
the red monte, I've decided I'll sell, and I might sell the blue one too I dunno. I need to let some one, that has the time to do the rust repairs have it I have new floor pans and carpet. but too many irons in the fire and not enough time and or money for everything.
thats life.

Sounds like you need to concentrate on ONE thing at a time and FINISH IT before starting on something else.

I love this car porn thread :joy:
Shame the last post was 2008

I have to admit, it make one feel very nostalgic.

I love reading about the passion in each of the projects...

I hope to post some pics of my project, but it will probably crack you guys up and have you rolling about larfing (like this - - > 🤣🤣)

It's only a little fiesta hatchback (fwd) , but since they stopped making fiesta's some time last month, the value went up :joy:

Right now I'm trying to find an engineer to fit the engine in, the replacement engine runs on unleaded fuel. The old four star premium fuel stopped being sold at the petrol station some years back..

And since its an engine conversion, the engine mountings and crossmember have to be relocated...

What I'm finding is that there are like 100 fitters for every one engineer...

The fitters can only fit replacement parts like brakes, shockers, engine components lights etc... and won't touch it lol... Woe is me :scream::sob:🥺

Here in the UK the regulations have continued to tighten up on modified vehicles. If you change the engine for another new/reconditioned/unleaded conversion but identical engine that is OK. If you install any other engine, maybe larger capacity, an upgrade, or just a different manufacturer, the vehicle will require to be examined at a government testing station for safety reasons. It costs a lot more than the normal MOT test required on all vehicles over 3 years old, and must be completed at a government testing station. Once tested, the changes are recorded and an updated registration document issued, so the annual MOT test is all that is needed in future. If the vehicle is over 40 years old and registered as a 'historic vehicle', then it doesn't apply, these vehicles do not require a MOT test.

No restrictions in my State just don't get a DUI or speeding ticket. Many vehicles are on the Road.

 Oh wait! You must have a valid drivers license and car insurance.

It is over 40 years old :joy:...
Not as old as myself though :joy:...

It's a mk1 fiesta 1983...
And the engine n gearbox are from a mk3
I'm saving up for the cost of having the work done and still finding it hard to find a garage to do the work :sob::joy:
