Don't grab them by their tails!
Along with gators, hurricanes and frozen iguanas laugh we have several varieties of lizards.... and some, can separate themselves from their tail and regrow a new one.... while you are left holding a tail that is still flopping aroundlaugh

Yeah I know about the tail thing since my sister did that once. I want to catch it alive and release it back outside. I think of throwing a towel on it to catch it. The last time I saw him he went under the stove. Wish me luck.

laugh yeah the tail thing is a shocker, if you don't know.
The only thing I can think of is sit a bucket, bowl or pan with water in the bottom, and maybe he'll go in it.... I can't pick up anything outside with a little standing water in it that don't have a couple of lizards in it.

Anyway good luck flowerforyou
And don't forget to update us on the big lizard huntlaugh

I'm in the leave them alone camp. But, if you really want to catch and release, then let them get used to you. Then slowly lower an inverted (preferably clear) bowl over them. Then slip a sheet of paper between the surface and the rim of the bowl. Voila...

To catch a lizard you have to think like a lizard.

Unfortunately I've no idea what a lizard thinks about so....

I wish I could be as fast as one but there’s so many places to run underneath to take cover and wish to be a slim as one too. My parents already have named him Freddy. He came from the backyard and was between the door and storm door and ran inside when my dad was going in and out while he was grilling in the backyard. Haven’t seen him again yet.

Do you have a cat? Hear my out on this. Cats don't always kill. They can catch something so fast, you don't see it. Not saying you should get a cat. I've seen cats with birds and mice, and I got them out and gone from the house while they are alive.

I'm completely invested with this battle between you and lizard. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to hear the next update. What's wrong with me? Get em!!

aww poor wee lizard .. if you plan to use a towel it needs to be something lightweight . I would leave out chopped fruit or vege peel sprayed with water on a shallow plate or container ... close to the door ... the scent should attract him /her out of hiding . What sort of lizard is. It ??? Tiny like a gecko ?? waving

P.s. Don’t use a cat .. that is cruel . Likely the car will torture the poor creature .

No we have no pets and I’ll try to be gentle with him as possible. Haven’t caught him yet.

I would simply leave a door open and let it find it's own way out.
Today I found a stunned sparrow. I took it home to rest. When it felt better, I opened my window and he flew out. Their natural habitat is outdoors.

If you have a hen egg.. make a omelette an eat.. but break the egg from bottom or top like make a small hole of pencil size keep the empty shell's outside door or window with nailed.. it avoids getting liZards inside house enterance... or use hit black spray...

Here's a thought, catch a large insect, place a fish net with handle like you would use in a boat on the floor using blocks of wood to hold framework up a couple of inches, place large insects in the middle of the net ,
hope the lizard goes for the bait
entangling it's feet in the net, grab the handle of the net and bring outside.

Good morning julie waving

Have you tried sitting out a couple of buckets with a inch of water in the bottom? May take a couple of days but they are attracted to water.
