As for the rest... I think most people get skipped or rejected immediately because of how they present themselves, either in their profile or in messages or both.
It is far more dependent on behaviour and expressing of self than looks.
I mean, it's not like almost everyone is pretty or handsome and a mere few aren't. It's the other way round.

If it was looks that counted most, hardly anyone would have a partner. So... that's not it.

Self looks? Reading this, personal hygiene springs into my mind. Many people might hide behind designer clothes, brand new cars, tons of make up, you name it. But then they neglect themselves by some unhealthy lifestyle choices.

I've not come across that to be honest?
But I guess we're all different in what we focus on.
For me it's basic, normal grooming: having a decent haircut, brushing your teeth and/or go see a dentist if need be, dressing properly, regular showers & using deodorant, and so on.
And that's nothing fancy, just normal average taking care of yourself.
Someone that cannot be @r$ed to take normal care of themselves is also not attractive to another.

Agree. I never understand when people claim they don't judge. Yes we do. We all do. Especially in dating, but in our regular lives as well. It's how we determine who to surround ourselves with.
