Indian cinema is improving but still a very long way to go Agreed, in terms of capturing reality, yes, but when it comes to literary depth, I always go back to Gulzar, Guru Dutt and others |

One I know and loved: Slumdog Millionaire
As for the rest... I do not watch Indian movies. At the time we stumbled upon this one and it was very very much worth watching. It's one of these movies you never forget. If you want to see a good movie I wholeheartedly recommend it. Rating of 8 which is outstanding. |

It's one of these movies you never forget. If you want to see a good movie I wholeheartedly recommend it. Rating of 8 which is outstanding. We have a fabulous film director Deepa Metha, living in Canada , and she makes awesome movies ...she combines east and west and tells great stories ... Hollywood Bollywood is one that comes to mind ... others include "Water" "Fire" etc ... check 'em out ... though they do not qualify as Bollywood movies .... |

"Devdas" is my absolute favourite.
"Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" is a classic, although, I haven't finished it yet... I'm taking my time and savouring all the details. |

I can't watch them.
About 5 minutes in and the mix of English/non-English throws me. Even with subtitles I can't sit and watch. Nothing against Indian cinema, Its a language thing... |
