I think it depends on the people, I have a few aunts and uncles that I can't stand and never want to see again. I also had a friend once that told me he wouldn't even go to his mothers funeral to piss on her grave.
So yeah not all family ties are iron clad. |

No, it isn't.

Depends on the context. Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
Also, do you mean your own children as well when you say family? For me my kids are not included in the more global concept 'family'. Or are you speaking of family to mean 'man, woman, their children'? In English this is confusing as you use the same word for both. |

Family is everything? What do think FOR A CHILD IT IS EVERYTHING AND AS THEY BECOME ADULTS IT STILL IS.....IN EVERYONE ADULT THERE IS A ADAPTIVE CHILD. THAT'S THE PART OF US THAT LEARNED HOW TO ADAPT TO THE FAMILY DYNAMIC'S.....FOR A LOT OF ADULT'S ITS THE CHILD IN THEM THAT IS ''DRIVING THE BUS''..... |

OF COURSE, HOWEVER THAT'S CALLED THE ''EXTENDED FAMILY'',,,I WAS TALKING ABOUT THE ''NUCLEAR FAMILY'' SOMETIMES REFERRED AS THE BASIC SOCIAL UNIT.... |

No one says "I'm going to my basic social unit" nor "I'm visiting my extended family tomorrow." Both are referred to with family. Context usually makes clear which of the two you're talking about. Your judgement about 'nut jobs' has nothing to do with it. |

The quicker we realize there is only one family and we're all in it, the better.
Families that work right are wonderful -but they definitely don't all work right. We are not taught the most important things -like how to be a good person, parent, etc... |

No, it isn't. As the context of the OP is ambiguous, I take it that only the immediate family has been meant by him. To that, my experience has been a definitive "no"! However, in an absolute sense of the term, the way John Lennon would Imagine, YES. (i,e, keeping the answer to just yes or no!) |
