Few questions on cats...

I got 2 male ones, 12 yrs old, brothers from the same litter.
Now my girl's cat has a litter and I'm going to get a 3rd cat from that. I want a female but that's really difficult to tell.
So questions I have...

- is size of a kitten an indication of gender?
- is size of the head an indication of gender?
- if so, how certain would that indication be?

Another question:
- is it easier to add a female kitten to 2 males than adding a 3rd male?
Or doesn't it matter much?

2. Don't think head size or size in general is any way to tell sex.

3. Your local vet is also your friend.

4. I would think introducing young male to two established males, due to territorial issues, would be more difficult than, "heeeyyy dude! It's a girrlll!!!".

I know about Google, but since I would like to know people's experiences I'm asking here.

You can tell the gender of a kitten by looking under their tail, but not able to explain on this site. By the way, any vet mail/female should be happy to answer all of your animal questions.

the size of the kitten, the head, or any part but the boy/girl parts doesn't tell the gender. Older boy cats usually don't like a kitten around, boy or girl, but they should get used to it and accept it before long. You might check out some advice places that tell about introducing a new pet to the older pets.

Currently they're too young to do the under the tail thing. I believe around 8 weeks and even then it's not a fool proof way.
And a vet... I'm not going to a vet and pay a lot of money for that. And if he says 'boy' then go back to my daughter, get another kitten, and back to the vet again, paying a 2nd time. And maybe a 3rd etc.
Not that my daughter would allow that, and I wouldn't either.

Thing is I want to know BEFORE I choose a kitten. Not ONCE I have a kitten.

Also, vets often are wrong as it's just really hard to tell until they're older.
So for now I'm just going to wait for my son in law to make up his mind about which kitten he wants to keep, then I can choose the one I want.
Not much else to do now, unfortunately.

I was hoping for people's own experiences hence me asking here.

Apparently you can add both a male or female kitten to a house with male adult cats.
When it comes to an existing adult female you're better off sticking to another female.
So in that sense a relief that it doesn't matter much in my case.
Thing is, they're 1/2 ragdoll and part Maine Coon and these can get enormous, especially the males.
I prefer to have a bit of a smaller one, plus I like to have a female for a change :)
