The only thing completely different about Mingle2 than other dating/forum sites is that the forums are PG 13. Every other forum site I've been on you can speak like adults.

True I think one of the reasons why M2 forums is monitored and censored this way is because of the world-wide membership with a huge range of moral diversity. |

I'm on another forum site of equally world wide proportions and we are allowed to "speak our mind." It runs deeper here and goes to the history/back story of this site. I've been here for a long long long time... |

Sorry, there is no mystery.
Sponsors decide what can be discussed on a forum. If you want that HUGE sponsor, to keep the site free, that will be the price you pay. First thing that went was the Intimacy&Sex forum. Then pics were screened for PG-13 acceptability. Then, discussing sex or sex-related topics was not allowed. The auto censor asterisks certain words. You can, however, bypass the forums and use email to say the things you cannot in the forums (PG-13) most adults understand the need for this. soufie Site Admin |

Surely most of them are not for PG 13 sites... |

I don't see any ads at all.
I'm using a pc computer with adblocking software tho. If a site doesn't allow adblocking software, I don't use it. I'm a member at many forums (not dating site forums) which are pg-13. I've been a member at other dating sites rated R. Thankfully, M2 has forum mods who actually do their jobs to keep it equal and civil for a wide range of people. Many of the R rated forums can get pretty rude and crude and have mods which are absent or don't care. I was taught in creative writing that unless you are writing porn or horror, intelligent writers know how to compose their thoughts and ideas without vulgarity. Failure to compose written responses in a civil manner tells much about the person doing the writing. Since M2 is not a forum for porn or horror, control must be maintained in fairness to all. |

I do agree, mostly. However, it is still nice to have the option to speak adult speak when it is appropriate. |

I am glad that content is censored. I for one do not want to see, hear or be exposed to vulgar content.
