What should be included among ideas for making the world a better place?
Something that may take more than one person to achieve, but would not require every single person of the community to be involved. |

Individual preparedness. Being independent of society is definitely an advantage. Everyone wins. Then one can have more equanimity when they are involved with society. |

What should be included among ideas for making the world a better place? Something that may take more than one person to achieve, but would not require every single person of the community to be involved. The "world" is a very big, diverse place. People in different parts of it have different value systems, opportunities and resources. To make the "World" a 'better' place will require more than just a few people and would be easier to accomplish if everyone were working together in a common goal. The problem with that is the fact people from different cultures posses little commonality. the world a better place is also too large of a generalization. Specifically, which part of "the world". Not only geographically, aesthetically or morally..., 'the world' has multiple meanings relative to how you look at it. "The world" is a human species specific term. Its how we define our state of being. Your world is different from my world which is different from their world which is different from our world. The single most significant thing a small group of people could do to improve our world as a species is to stop reproducing. But, we won't, we can't. Human population drives most of the things which are... 'wrong' with the world. Less people = less problems. More people = more problems. Our species has not intellectually or emotionally advanced enough to support our growing numbers. We are still controlled by our greed and hatred (generally speaking). We have the technology to fix many things wrong with the world but we can't agree to make it happen. There's nothing a small group can do to fix our world but I personally don't need my world fixed. |
