Topic: Do scars affect the way you see ppl? | |

well, i'm completely comfortable with my scars. it's other people who aren't. i mean, i don't mind anymore, the main one that bothers people i have no issue with. it's down the middle of my chest. so what if they can't handle it. i just wanna know if somewhere down the line someone will be able to.
thanks everyone! |

I have a major scar across my face. It goes all the way from my right ear, down my jaw line, and to the corner of my mouth. I TRIED not to let it affect me, but you perceive that you can see it in people's eyes, the direction of their eyes. Before long, I couldn't even make eye contact anymore.
I have a high IQ, a great sense of humor, I am great at communicating, and most importantly, I am loyal and faithful. Nothing but the facade of relationships because of the comforts I could offer. Then I woke up one morning and looked at myself in a whole new way. My scars are a story line of my life. As Doug Stanhope says, "I was a player in this life, not a spectator". The sad part is that I still don't have a relationship, and I may well die alone, but I am going to die alone with my head held high. I guess what I'm trying to say is do you want to be intimate with someone who would reject you for the trials and tribulations of life. |

i personally think scars are sexy on other people, i think that's why i don't have a problem with mine anymore. it did take me a bit to get used to. but now i realize that i feel the same way about it that i do about the scars everyone else has.

The only scares that would effect the way I see people would be if they were across my eyeballs.
Im with KK, scars are sexy. Shows you live your life in the saddle and not sitting on the fence. Well all except for the guy with the puppy dog scar, Should have said it was from a rabid guard dog or something, |

I think you can see by the posts here that you can be pretty sure you'll find someone who doesn't have a problem with it. I can tell you if our ages were a bit closer I'd be happy to prove it doesn't bother me . Hopefully you've had good support from family. In high school "tried" to date a girl with sever burn scars on her arms, her neck, legs and chest had a little scaring. They didn't bother me at all, frankly I thought she was quite pretty. But her father was so afraid that someone would hurt her and how could I possible like her the way she was (talk about adding a little emotional scaring) that he refused to let her go out with me. |

Scars don't bother me in the least. I don't even see the scars....It isn't the physical scars on a person that defines a person, it is what's on the inside that matters...
Doesn't bother me at all!!.... I have a dear friend of mine with scars on the left side of his face and neck....I don't see them... Beauty is from the inside out.... |

If anyone saw a pic of me while I had it up, they might have noticed that I have a big scar on the right side of my forehead, going from my eyebrow to the start of my hairline (which is a receeding one). Back in 1993, four teenagers in a Grand Am ran a red light, smashing into me, and causing my head to have an "intimate encounter" with the steering wheel of my 78 Nova (LOVED that car--the wreck totaled it, and according to the cop at the hospital, should have totaled me as well). I was told they could touch it up with plastic surgery, but there'd always be something noticable there. I figured that being the case, what's the point of plastic surgery?
But, hey--it's one hell of a GREAT conversation starter ! |
