Topic: How do find someone in a dead end town? | |

I live in a little ol town where everyone knows everyone. You know how that goes. Have of them don't have a car or a job and lives off of pills and alcohol. What do you do?

You have just done it. Think outside the box. focus on what you are looking for not where you are looking from. |

That sounds like good advice

It sounds like you are not a fit for that town..are you
forced by circumstances to live there? |

Maybe you missed a few people.
It's a good idea to go where the people you would want to meet will be doing the things they would be doing. Do volunteer work, take adult education classes, go to community events, etc. If you really have no options... figure out your ideal place to live and move there -you might as well live where you want -then find someone.... or if you are not picky where you live, find someone and then move. I was raised on a little farm and the big city grew up around it. I dream of a little ol town. |

You spend your spare time bar crawling in the next town.

You might find someone on the net who thinks your town would be great, too

On weekends have little holidays in towns nearby, where your interests are also the interests of your preferred type. As far as internet dating goes, don't put all your eggs in one basket, diversify. Good luck and happy hunting.

I would have to ask ...why you are there in the first place ... work... home town never left ... only thing i could suggest is going to ... a local church ... and get involved with their activity's for the town ... other then that take care of yourself and don't mind those that are on their path to death ... it is out of your control ... if u can move try that ... if not ...still out of your control and just live your own life ... and not bother with those that are on the wrong path ... or get involved with trying to help them ... in some way ... with backing of course ... |

Bar crawling is for seasoned fanatics, just before bar spewing.
Visit neighboring town's churches to meet new people, who may not be substance abusers. |

Bar crawling is for seasoned fanatics, just before bar spewing. Visit neighboring town's churches to meet new people, who may not be substance abusers. Reminds me of a work conversation at lunch once. Some women were annoyed about drinkers, so I said "Yeah, I don't like drinking and driving! If I've been drinking, I get in the car, floor it, and get home as fast as I can!" Two of them were appalled, and one woman piped up and said "I just drink to be sociable." So I agreed, saying "Yeah, I just drink to be sociable, and to see who ELSE is under the table..." Drinking jokes. I wonder how long it will be before those will be blacklisted in society. |

Put an ad in the local paper. Worth a try. "If you don't like 10 pina coladas, the rush of meth in your brain" etc. Humorous, but could work.
