Conditions? Are we talking about mental ilnesses, or circumstances? Circumstances. Weather conditions, agreed upon conditions, etc. |

When I trusted the other person would accept whatever I shared without any consequences. The other situation would be where I would be totally anonymous.

Trust is the key, but then, how do we know, we can trust a person?

It depends on who and for what reason.
I have no reason to lie about anything but there are things in my life which are none of anyone's business knowing. Most of my life is public but even that depends on who and for what reason. Some of my life is completely personal and shared with nobody else. Like passwords, PINs, banking info, health details and such. There are things I share about myself anonymously online that I do not share personally in a relationship. Mostly because its not relative to the current relationship. For instance, I don't talk in detail about my past relationships except when it is relevant to my current relationship. Since I don't believe living life is a sin, I have no need to confess my sins. Since I don't believe in religion I need no forgiveness. I don't think of myself as a rumor mill or a pot stirrer. I will give my opinion on a subject using wisdom gained by experience. I have no need to justify my existence to anyone. If I am wrong, I apologize without excuses. My self-esteem does not hinge on anyone else's opinion of me. Like I said, It Depends... |

I'm an open panflet.
And why not..... i'm not reel smart, but I can lift heavy things. LS, Without the glasses, you and Christopher Reeve share similar facial traits... he was an awesome Superman, and a hero in life off the screen too. I imagine you might be built of the same stuff... |

In what conditions would you be willing to be open about your experiences, feelings, thoughts, interests, etc.?
In whatever conditions where there is purpose, value, and/or meaning to me being open about experiences, feelings, thoughts, interests, etc.? Where it's ultimately in my self interest and there is less risk to being whatever degree "open" than not? |

In what conditions? The condition that I know the person I am being open with. I am certainly not going to be open with a total stranger.

I think such things go in stages. And then it depends on subject, timing, relevance to the conversation and my connection with the person, and why/the reason for me having to tell it.
That means that with a certain person with whom it feels right, relevant etc. I might do that quite quickly than with another. Generally speaking I'm not difficult about opening up, but there has to be relevance. And if someone is trying to pry I usually don't react well to it. |

Generally speaking I'm not difficult about opening up, but there has to be relevance. And if someone is trying to pry I usually don't react well to it. That is pretty much how it is with me as well. Depends a lot on my comfort level with that person, the timing, relevance, and subject. And I'm the same way when I feel someone is trying to pry, especially when I don't know them well, I tend to clam up and cut the conversation short. |

In what conditions would you be willing to be open about your experiences, feelings, thoughts, interests, etc.? With a doctor or a trusted friend and/or lover; but there are always boundaries. My provider doesn't need to know everything; he/she just needs to answer my questions. I'm very careful about discussing my sexual experiences with a partner. It can backfire. |
