How will Mankind recover from all of this?
From The Hill: "Global coronavirus death toll passes 100,000" Yes, Pandemic 2020 is getting worse. Except for social distancing, nothing is making the situation better. Fake solutions have proven to be the fakes that they are. So, how are people to cope with the mass deaths? How are people to cope with the shortages due to hoarding? How are people to cope with a lack of employment as a result of Pandemic 2020? |

The same way we always have. Some people will die. Life will go on as usual for the rest.

How are people to cope with the shortages due to hoarding? How are people to cope with a lack of employment as a result of Pandemic 2020? We recover by changing the way our societies are construed... It is not getting worse, we are just not over the peak. China is. Took them 3 months too. Mass deaths? Where? I don't see them piled up in the streets. 7.7 billion people on the planet, 108.000 dead in a pandemic is really not that many. Cope with hoarding? What hoarding? There is no hoarding here, plenty of food and supplies and well stocked supermarket. There are no shortages. Lack of employment is not really the case either. Most people who work at an office now do the same work at home. The joy of internet that this is possible! Many companies are adapting their services for instance by delivering food and now providing take-away. The only ones who might get in a tight spot are companies who cannot make a living at all like hotels, campings etc. Most have done well enough to get through 2 months without income, meaning it might get critical by now for them. Many others can still work their jobs as they work alone. My son in law is welder, he still works. Garages are still open and so on. I don't understand why people think up these doom scenarios that do not exist. |

I don't understand why people think up these doom scenarios that do not exist. To shed some light, personal experiences often trump what might be the big picture. Here in the US, there is indeed hoarding, lack of resources, and skyrocketing unemployment. Much of our work force is in the industries of sales (personal interactions) and customer service(also personal interactions) that cannot be done from home. I would say most of our jobs that are not 'high level' office, are also NOT set up to allow people to work from home. They want their 'proprietary' software in their own locations and not scattered in personal homes. So, here in America, the sudden changes are very real and more challenging than what most of the population has ever lived through. I agree it is not Dooms day, so to speak, but it may be a serious change of life 'as we know it', in terms of how society and economies conduct themselves. |

Either mankind will embrace a new norm and survive, or become the fossil fuel source for a future generation...

I agree it is not Dooms day, so to speak, but it may be a serious change of life 'as we know it', in terms of how society and economies conduct themselves. Change in life in terms of how society and economies conduct themselves for sure! And this was long overdue. The old ways of doing things do no longer work but the ones who make big bucks and are in power don't want to let go. This will make that a little easier :p I've already read that the Italian PM is afraid the EU will collapse, which he doesn't want because he's aiming to milk other EU countries like mine to get his up and running. But we have been milked enough by the EU. It's time it collapses. And as for the US... I've said before concerning this, some weeks ago, that this may very well be the wake-up call America needs to see their country doesn't work well. And I know that sounds unpleasant, I don't mean it that way. Just a big picture view. It's not a society that takes good care of its people, doesn't even have proper social stuff (sick pay, unemployment money, pension, healthcare etc etc). In comparison: when we work we automatically have 23-28 days off a year. In the US you should be glad to get a week after 1 or more years of employment. That is against the law here. Just to name one thing. So yes, I get that in the USA things may be dire now, and from what I've heard millions have lost their jobs and homes there. Like I said, huge wake-up call that things need to change. And that goes for all countries, but I think for some more than others. But also good to realise this is not the case in other 1st world countries who do have different systems in place to take care of their people. Food industry is working normally, as is distribution. So all these people are still working, no unemployment there, and food is available as normal. Now that people have realised this, no one is hoarding anymore. That was just the first 1-2 weeks, mostly bog roll, hihi. And bread rolls & croissants that keep and you have to finish off in the oven. The rest has always been available. We of course also have many jobs that normally require more personal interaction. Yet, wherever possible these all work from home. We all have fast internet, so it's not a problem. This includes helpdesks. And yes, some things are now on its @$$, but I think overall most are still working. Companies are adapting big time, which is great! |

From USA Today, 11 April 2020:
"US now has more coronavirus deaths than any other country, but the worst of epidemic may not be far off" "the worst of epidemic may not be far off" means that the worst has not arrived yet. In short, the epidemic is still getting worse. So, how will people cope when the worst arrives? |

Humans just keep hittin the snooze button...
Go on... keep hittin it. it's your only chance. isn't it? or..... Too many messed up greedy rich running the real show, taking everything you had, have, or ever will have. telling you lies to your face about what's what, and who's what....and smugly laughing at you, NO MATTER WHAT COUNTRY YOU'RE FROM.... IF YOU THINK NOT.. ask the ones who have paid. and...ask you.... you are the ones that are paying. Just once i'd like to see the worker win. you're actually stronger, in body mind and spirit... They are just connivingly smart, and they cheat, lie, steal and if need be, kill to get where they are. Conscience? heck no. They enjoy it. You pay. deep down... you know all this. |

This virus won't take us all out, but there are many threats to human survival which collectively do not bode well. Even if humans worked collectively (they do not) to remedy what they could, some things are beyond human control. From a biblical perspective (though many unpleasant things are mentioned), it is primarily war which will lead to the greatest time of trouble the Earth has ever known -or will ever know -to the point that "unless those days were cut short, there should no flesh be saved alive".
Fortunately, they will be cut short -all ill effects of human history eventually nullified -and we will never experience the like again forever. |

By tightening our belts, forgoing superflous luxuries, perhaps people wont get so huge they can't get out of bed. By being more self reliant, by not expecting or relying on the state of government to sort it out for us.
By planting our gardens, so whatever happens we've got something to eat. we loose many, many more to heart attacks every month. There are 30,000 odd deaths from road accidents in the us every year. 4.4 million road accidents resulting in hospitalization. 32'000 deaths from gun crime.48,000 suicides. and 10s of millions from over eating related conditions. Also 22,500 died of hunger today.. we'll be fine. I cant shake the feeling that something else is going on behind the scenes. But thats probably just paranoia.. |

There are still many unknowns about the virus . The health and economic impacts are only just beginning . Governments all over the world are implementing emergency funding and short term supports to help ease lockdowns .. costing trillions of dollars . The recession is yet to hit but all the signs are there that this will happen . Commodities .. international travel ., import/export have all been markedly restricted . I cannot see this as being short term . International Borders will likely remain closed for some time to come . Unemployment rates are already soaring . What happens next Depends on how much debt governments can sustain and how prepared they are to deal with the increasing poverty that will likely result when the recession hits . Covid will not be eradicated this year .. Herd immunity is highly unlikely ...there will be be a need for caution and ongoing surveillance .. further lockdowns and restrictions . ... that will continue to impact on health , economy and society as a whole . Those with wealth will weather the covid storm .. those already dependent on government for benefits .. accommodation and handouts will need to compete with the growing masses who also need support . As always the poor in society will feel covid’s impact the most .

I think the concern is death rate. We are now up to 21,912 deaths in the US in 10 weeks. That is 2200 deaths a WEEK. That is much higher than weekly road accident deaths or weekly gun deaths, or even weekly suicides. Given the infected numbers of 557 thousand, that is nearly a 4 % death rate. And these numbers include time being quarantined. It is logical to find concern in these numbers. And also, that these numbers are ON TOP of the resources we already are using and are rising so quickly is a reason for concern.
However, all the world can do is keep going. It may be a change in systems and perspectives, but the world will go on for sure. |

Perhaps we'll change from one convenient fiction that worked and then failed, to another convenient fiction that will work until it too fails 🤣.

To claim that it hasn't is to be unrealistic. |

There will be major changes in the US!! We can give guidance to people but we do not force them to follow that guidance. In time, the virus will kill people or they will learn how to deal with it. Self reliance and common sense will come back to those who survive, those who can not will perish. We have put social distancing in effect across the country, yet we read news stories of people with total disregard for the idea - the virus will educate them!. We will learn how to adjust our lives until science comes to our rescue and even when there is a vaccine, people are still going to have a more conservative stance on close socializing.
