I feel this is going to break many relationships ,being stuck together , financial pressure , no escape to the pub,bookmaker, hairdresser, beauty salon ,shopping trips,gym, cinema and so on ,

Some will loose friends and family to add to the stress

Some lucky couples may benefit by finding each other again doing the permitted things like cycling ,walking or trying a new interest like painting or a musical instrument as long as the other is not disturbed , harmonica and practice in the car springs to mind

Garden sheds will be pressed into service
A lot of us singles will not have most of these problems
Whatever happens good luck to you all

methinks lots of honey do lists will get serious dents put in them

What about all the weak dad jokes, stupid pranks people will get up to when bored.
Household home made Jackass movies.
Pets forced to demean themselves.
Kids forced to clean their rooms out of boredom.
Mums forced to stop everyone from making a mess, all day.
Dads forced to listen to everyone.
So many sharp and blunt instruments, and household poisons, and bad cooking.
Home waxing accidents, home hair dyeing incidents, novice cooks with knives and hot stuff.

The ambulances will be kept busy.

the queen is ok . She has fled to Windsor with her corgis .. not sure if Phillip is with her ., I am sure he gets his own wing to the mansion lol

Someone else mentioned this, and it was one of the first things on my mind when we got limitations concerning going to work.
I think a lot of good can come from it as now people finally have to reconnect and get to know each other. I'm talking parents and their children here. I think most people don't really have a clue who their kids are as most have to or choose to work a lot.
These days kids grow up in daycare centres from baby onward cos mummy wants or has to work.
A situation I always find totally unhealthy.

And yes, maybe many breakups.

But also think of singles. Most people cannot be alone and still feel good. Some may decide to 'check out' because they get depressed.

All in all I see this as a major reset of our societies. And such a reset requires time to get it to sink in, which is why this hasn't and won't pass within a month.

I'm working at home in the Bronx and I don't see anyone self-quarantining! Street outside my window shows people coming & going, except that bus & train svc. is limited.

I HAD to go to the drugstore last night, & the line outside the store was 10 people long (only 10 people allowed inside at one time). I see a lot of elderly walking around too, I guess they can't let go of their habits, even though they are a high risk population for the virus.

The local bodegas are still selling lottery tickets, cigs. & beer, so I know NYS tax revenues are still coming in...

When you can't find the human vices of gambling, chemical addictions, or sex being indulged in or provided for, that's when you know it's the end...

My first thought

no one will be happy..every one dreams of a milestone after which they "THINK" they will be happy but the truth is the more you expect the more you suffer and satisfaction comes only when you admire what u have.....whether the lockdown remains or not only a few will be satisfied and content with all what they have...as has always happened from the day the first human came into existence
