I'm 5'2" so I don't meet many men my height or shorter. My husband was 6'. That was pretty handy for reaching the top shelf. Seriously though, when we were young, his height, long torso, and broad shoulders was certainly part of the attraction. And the height difference made me feel more feminine and view him as more masculine. Now, at over 60 yo, and second time around, I'm far less interested in physical appearance. We're not 20 anymore. I would prefer a height difference less than a foot. But it would not be a deal breaker.

Well I'm 6' or 6' 1" depending on how straight I can get my spine that day so it's rarely been an issue. I have dated a couple of women a bit taller than me and didn't have a problem with it.........JMO

Height matters 100% but it can be considered a preference. More or less a turn off for me anyway. I am tall and I have dated a few guys that was shorter then me and it did nothing for me. I refuse to date someone shorter then me, Not only because its a turn off but also the looks that people give you are sad. I don't usually let others affect my choices but it sucks. The ability to wear shoes with a small heal is a thing and when you are already taller then that person it's a feeling that cant be described. I always feel bad because it's not something someone can control and i'm sure there are nice guys that are short but again is a turn off for me. Thanks for reading

justagrl. How tall are you? I'm probably the opposite of you. I don't have a need to date a shorter guy. I'm not wearing 6" heels to be taller. I wear flats all the time.

My belief is that we evolve to be attracted to certain characteristics that benefit spreading our genes. In general the female is attracted to the large and domineering man who will protect her & her offspring. Man is attracted to the colorful/flashy female and size is less important.

Please understand that I also believe this is how we have evolved but nothing is completely the same for everyone/everything. Men can be attracted to men, women to women. some to both. Although most women prefer a big & strong man, not all do. There is no wrong attraction, it's just our makeup and our makeup does vary by person.

So my answer is, size matters and also size doesn't matter.

hi i think it matters to many people, not just because of themselves or what they actually like, but because they are afraid of standing out, or being judged

most people judge others without even knowing them, and they do it on things like height, weight, thighs, face etc as you all know

it's also inbred, through history women seem to be with taller men, and people accept he is a bit higher, that can look up to him and feel safer as well, big muscles are a bonus

many guys like women lower than them as well, to feel like the man, to be able to hug them and even feel like they can protect them and carry them easier, lift them and women feel happy being carried as well.

I've known women tall & they are sad because they can't find a man taller to feel his embrace and he can't do the same things as with a lady of lower height

there are many other reasons as well, but the main ones appear to be social stigmas as said, trying to fit in with what people think a couple should look like, ie the couple on the wedding cake, do they make ones where the woman is much higher? no idea never looked...

there are also things about looks, we all judge a face, the cover without knowing the book, and we know, that covers can be fake and hide a really good or really bad book...

there are many really ugly short guys.... dating super models, and many other types of couples, they feel happy, they are secure in themselves and they don't worry about what others say or think...

really it should be about love... if you truly like them and care about them, height, weight, hair type etc should not really matter, no matter what your attracted to, it's better to actually get along and have things in common and feel the heart beating when you missed them all day, when you know they are coming home and you want to jump into their arms fit the biggest hug, and well, all those things,

height should not matter, if you are confident with your own body and yourself, if you truly love and care for the other person, in sickness and in health, then show them how much you care, by being they're best friend and loyal partner through thick and thin,

if others judge or give negative comment, do you really want to know that person's? are they really a good friend to have around anyway?

love yourself, love who you want to love, and tell the rest to go do the same.

may you all find a really loving, amazing partner, no matter your height, race, religion, gender inside or out.

kindness, fun, loyalty, love and friendship should by high priorities. imo.

have nice day everyone, go find your other half and love everything about them, even the socks on the floor. bye.

Like who and what you like. Other people should not matter.

Physical differences are nothing -you can make it work.

Doesn't make much difference when you are laying down, anyway -you just might have to scooch up and down a bit. :p

 Height is as immaterial as length though both are in cm

You figure? You do realise the airpocket in a man's belly button is very small. A short woman would need a snorkel to breathe during sex with a tall guy.
He occasionally has to rise on his arms and shout down "How are you doing down there?"

My first wife was 5"1. about a foot shorter then me at the time.

Second one was 5" 10. There can be certain, ahem, physical, shall we say, barriers of a delicate nature encountered by a gentleman of ahem, longer proportions.
I mean, just putting it out there.
No, wait. That's not what I mean..
putting it right back in again
No, wait....
You catch my drift, right?

Certain 'ahem things' sure as heck are difficult and very trying to do with a man who's shorter, or the same height even. Basically impossible, unless the woman is willing to break her back. Takes the fun right out of it.
