Ooh, loving it so far Crystal. Looking forward to seeing the end result Thanks, Delightful! Looking at it, I can already feel the movement of the ship. Quite amazing, don't think I've ever had a similar thing before. Hopefully I can use that to get the waves right! I will update :) |

Gotten a lot further this afternoon :D
Obviously not done yet but certainly moved away from mostly just underpainting stuff. Still not happy with that sun part in the sky though, even though I have worked on it. |

Thank you!
Did some more work last nite, stopped at 11 :o I was having so much fun, hihi. Still not entirely done, it needs a few more tweaks, but close to it being done. Do notice the underwater part of the boat that shines through the wave |

Well, it is finished! A ton of fine, detailed work, but it was worth it
I also enlarged the bottom part of the ship under water, but now I think it's not clear enough so I may have to do that again. Wait and see how it dries. Otherwise... it is done!! Happy with it! Close-up of the ship: |

Great painting Crystal! Love the vivid colours and the way you managed to convey the sensations of movement. Thank you! Some things were quite the challenge but somehow I always like that, hihi. And I needed to have a real close look at the details & rigging of a Viking ship, using photos & vid from the series "Vikings" for that. It is truly amazing to see how they built their ships, the detail often put into it, and how far these ships could carry them! All the way to the US, that is quite something, centuries before the rest of Europe even dared think of that. And it's funny how you can see a Viking ship yet not really see? Like the global shape, but not so much the details. I for instance never knew nor saw there were ropes on the sail to tie it up when lowered. Anywho... I'm very happy with how the painting turned out :D |

Love this picture with the woman in the red dress. Thank you! And dark/wine red dresses is something that always appeals to me. One day I need to have such a dress myself, haha. As it is, the painting in which the woman wears a yellow dress catches my eye a lot. It's in the extension and every time I walk through there I see it. Once I've varnished it I want it in a better spot! That's this one, oils, not acrylics: |

Nice . Thank you! I finished that one somewhere last year. I really love it!! It's 50x60cm so a nice size to put on the wall :) Currently using more 40x50 cm canvasses as I was going through so many last month and I was shocked to see how expensive they've gotten over the years! I don't want to paint on cheap chit canvas, but only have a very small budget. It was either paint less or go for the other choice: go down a size of good quality. I do prefer 50x60 but alas. |

Today I finished the painting of my beloved Bailey, my familiar who had to cross the rainbow bridge on Feb 17th because he was so ill.
I've been working on it for a few days even though it's only 20x20cm. It was a lot of work as I really wanted it to look & feel like Bailey. It paid off as it does! I'm very happy with it |
