It's basically finished! I'll check it tomorrow with proper daylight and a clear head to see if everything I want in it is.
But in essence it's done! The edges of the roof now have the thatched sticky out bits, the bridge's railing is done, the flowering & plants in the foreground, and the path is now made up of flagstones with grass in the between. Believe it or not, that was a nightmare to do (the grass lines in the path). Oh, did a few tweaks and fine-tuning of the water. A close up of the cottage as I feel it's worth a closer look |

I set up a new painting 2 days ago.
Still lots of work to be done, including on the face! |

Thank you, Native & AngelBlue.
For now leaving the face for what it is. I will likely tweak it some more later but for now fed up with it. I want to focus on doing the rest and I think this will also help me to get the face right. As it is I'm going over it again and again, more shade, less shade, more, less etc. I have worked on the jawline a bit so it doesn't look so much like an old lady anymore, hihi. |

Are those clouds amongst the mountains or are you going to put some more details in the landscape?

Are those clouds amongst the mountains or are you going to put some more details in the landscape? That's just grey background and will be filled in later on, a building, a path and whatnot. |

Done a bit more work, but holy cow, everything I do seems to be a struggle with this one.
In spite of wanting to move on with other things, I did do tweaks to the ear and face and then finished with the first setup of the hand. After that it was time to cook tea. |

Bit more done today, and now I'm finally beginning to enjoy it as today wasn't such a struggle :)
There may very well be minor tweaks of what I've got right now, but at least I feel I'm making progress. |

Thank you so much, Merry!
I've sketched the temple that will be on the right side. If I feel like painting tomorrow I'm beginning with that. Another challenge for sure! |

Finally could begin with the temple ruins today!!
I should've done the upper right corner first, but I didn't have the patience to wait. I wanted to get on with the temple, hihi. I will of course still have to do that corner.... And I will have to rework the perspective of the sunlit side of the temple a bit. At some point you just go "snow blind" and can't tell anymore. Best to step away from it, which I didn't do... |

What does that have to do with this post? Looking good so far Crystal .

Thank you, Julie :)
I'm quite happy with how it's turning out! |

Today I got most of the side of the temple done :) A few things left to do.
I reworked the entire roof section as I wasn't happy with it. I also did the top right corner, then forgot to go over the leafs and vines with green & highlights, doh. So I will have to do that during the next session. Also quite peculiar how the green colours on the Buddha turned out so emerald? If I'd tried to do that I would've failed. It hadn't been the idea at all, quite shocked to see. I may or may not alter that in a later stage. |
