My input was the nice thing about being schitzophrenic is that you can always get a second opinion. Amen to that Roy! |

That is true, Jax. Last abcess I had was sore up to my left eye. Whole side of my face was hurting so bad. Dentist told me that I didn't have to prove to him that I was macho. I swear that dentist got off on other people's pain. Guy had no bedside manner at all. Was cutting up with jokes while I was in intense discomfort. You ever laugh when you are in excruitiating pain? Personally, I wanted to take the drill from him and use it on him. Just got out of a meeting. One lady had 90 days and a friend had 4 years. The one with 90 days said she was having trouble dealing with life on life's terms. Said if she had some Zanax that life would be easier to cope with. Then the topic went off on a insanity tangent. One of our favorite topics besides anger management of course. My input was the nice thing about being schitzophrenic is that you can always get a second opinion. yeah when your in labor and people crack jokes.... |

Hi, yellowrose. I hope you feel welcomed.
I just got back from a wonderful meeting. A newcomer just made 28 days clean. 2 more days and he will be out of treatment. He has been in a safe environment. But now the craving is coming back and it is affecting his thinking. He is caught up in an affair and we were trying to help him. He is in the crux of making a decision. He can go back to active addiction and get the fix he thinks he needs or he can continue to enjoy to recovery. We got to share with him the motto of 'Think, think, Think'. We were trying to help him think past the craving and what would happen if he used. We call it thinking it through and having him look at the worse possible scenario. A addict tries to look at the best possible scenario when they are still in denial. Hopefully, his decision will be a wise one but that is his to make. All we can share is our hope, strength and experience because the rest is up to each addict to make that decision. |
