How soon is too soon to buy your love interest gifts?
First date? One month of dating? What would you give them? |
|
|
|
it depends what they like get to know them first

Of course you need to get to know them first and be comfortable in your relationship so, however long that takes. I'm a spontaneous gift-giver. If I see something that someone I'm close to might like, I tend to buy and then give it. Of course, it's always with the explicit statement that once it's yours, you can do whatever you like with it, keep it, give it to someone else or even bin it. |

First date might seem a wee creepy early for
gifts. If anything, maybe something simple. First week... Still a wee early. One month... This seems more realistic. Maybe something with a little more depth. But, these timelines are still a wee early for Zale's. |

Real gifts... no time-frame, it depends on the depth of the connection.
I've had gifts on a first date (meet & greet), but that's like a box of good bonbons, a crystal etc. So small tokens of appreciation. I've done the same too. I'm very much a giver, for me it's something I have to control a bit. In other words, there have been occasions where I gave too much too soon. |

I'm not a great on for gifts for the sake of it. although I've been chatting for a while with someone and she;s fairly intolerent of wheat.
So I'll probably bake her one of my delicious almond flour and honey cakes lol If she plays her cards right :) |

The reason I asked the question is I saw a short video of the English series called 'First Dates'.
One woman turned up with a fake scratch card that her date scratched and it said she had won 100,000 dollars or pounds. I thought it was mean, but also funny. I personally would not come gift giving, hell, I am the gift lol. |

It wouldn't bother me if he brought a box of good chocolates or flowers on the first date, it's sweet and I'd appreciate his gesture. I believe it depends on the connection you have, how comfortable you are doing so, and how comfortable your date is receiving them. Small tokens early on would give you an indication of whether they are receptive to it or not. I like giving gifts as much as I like receiving them, perhaps even a little more. |

I have the same attitudes with gifts given...They are no longer my 'property' and if they end up with someone else, all good. In saying that, I did give a greenstone/ pounami heart to someone once and he gave it away. That did bother me. |

I may spontaneously pick a flower, but wear it myself lol. |
