long distance relationships can work, they are extremely hard to make work, but if u both want it to work, both put in that 100 percent, and deff have to have trust but if u both aint willing to come and see each other, just dont let the other put more into the relationship.
if its meant to be,it will happen just give it time and make sure u have patience cause u will need it.but u are going to have to see this to do happen to get really close,it can be extremely hard on u both if u cant be by each other. all I can say is u have to have patience, trust,an both put in a 100 percent into making it work |

Well if you want an honest opinion of someone who is well versed in relationships then the answer is:
Do you want it to work? Relationships fail because one or both persons lose their faith in the relationship. Not one person who has been the cause of a breakup can honestly say they wanted it to continue, but what many people dont realize too is that thoes "breakups" are something that can be prevented. What do you want out of your relationship? Why did you fall for this person? What was the basis for the start of your relationship? Did you just settle for someone else, or are they really what you want? If you want to ask if the relationship is worth salvaging, maybe you should ask why do you even need to ask if it is going to work. The mindset that it will fail, must be brewing, if that is the question. I can tell you that if you have your heart set to it, it will work to a point, just make sure the other side of the relationship has the same mind set of it working. |

Do the work, earn the relationship, do the miles, and then make a decision.
Never ever, just expect things to happen, MAKE them happen. |

keep in touch and try to meet if you really seem to like
each other. if the chemistry is right then maybe things will work out. the world is small these days. no one is all that far away. there is dirt cheap videoconferencing. both can travel anywhere at any time. make a friend that's what counts. you can take it from there.... |

P.S. Do the videocon thing first! Get to know them as well
as you can before investing too much emotional or financial capital. There are those who have found out that the person they have been emailing and talking with over the phone are really nothing like who they seemed!!! limitation of the medium sad but true! |

Do the work, earn the relationship, do the miles, and then make a decision. Never ever, just expect things to happen, MAKE them happen. I agree....sometimes we just have to "try it on" to see if it fits...sometimes that's the best way to decide....I think one should be open about it...LDR's aren't easy, however neither are relationships with two people that are close by to one another....It's all relative... Good Luck to you... |
LDR .. are doable, but you REALLY have to work on it. It's not easy.
It's not easy. BUT we are individuals capable of strengths sometimes unseen until matters of the heart break through the slivers of Hope of what could be...... with Love miracles happen............... |
with Love miracles happen...............
You have no idea how right that is!!!!!!!!!!! I fell in love and am in a LDR right now. Yes some things are harder that a closer relationship, but I know how she makes me feel, and will do anything and endure all so that we can be together soon. |
never have for me
you have to have two very special and in love people anything is possible |
Reason, trust, a strong sense of self, and a belief in who you are, and your worth.
Again, with no agenda, and complete acceptance of the other.... .... anything is possible. |

Or they are EXACTLY as they seemed.

Long distance relationships are romantic and wonderful ~~ I met someone 7 years ago on a goat chat list. He lived in Chicago and I lived in Virginia. We IMed & emailed for about 5 months, then we took turns flying back & forth for about 5 months, then we sold our homes and moved to Arizona together.
Now - true we uprooted our lives and by the way it didn't work out. But, it was a great ride and we both had fun. We bought 10 acres together and when it all fell apart, we subdivided and now we're neighbors! Hah hah. He has since married someone else and we waive friendly hellos every day. No regrets. I guess that part I didn't need to write - BUT, I say go for it and get to know him. It may or may not work, but at least you won't have any "what ifs" and think of the fun you'll have traveling and staying in hotels, etc. Keep us posted!!! |

I think they could work, but I personally wouldn't get into a relationship until I have met them in person as friends first. Then, either you or they have to be willing to relocate at some point, you can't be apart forever!
