Have you seen the crap shows on tv
aimed at women?

at me.

Having lived both sides now I know from experience its combination of three things, hormones (Estrogen) and social - women tend to be more empathic and boys are taught from an early age that men don't cry.

Women are the weak side of man, what men can endure many women can't

Women are the weak side of man, what men can endure many women can't

On average, strength is one of the few ways that a lot of larger men exceed the abilities of a lot of women. But when it comes to endurance, scientists have already confirmed that men really are the weaker sex. By reviewing and collating historical records, researchers have found in times of famine, epidemic and hardship women have consistently outlived men.

It releases frustration, hurt, pain of living in this messed up world, with messed up people.
Before you cry, it is like a storm of emotions inside you, with nowhere to go. Then the dam bursts and you cry.

I know from my own experience that even the beginnings of a negative emotion motivate me to fix whatever is causing it as quickly as possible in a practical way so I can go back to feeling happy -or at least content. Meanwhile, I'm too busy fixing stuff to cry. (except when watching sad movies -then my brain tricks me into feeling everything at once -but only subconsciously -and I'm a blubbering fool)

When a woman expresses any kind of negative emotion to me, I tend to think they want me to fix something -or that I messed up and need to fix myself. The idea that simply discussing stuff helps fix them is foreign to me.
I get the principle, but I am not that way at all.
If I can't do something with the information after receiving it to make the bad go away, it tends to just make my head hurt. Just discussing something negative for the sake of "working through it" is the last possible thing I want to do.
But.... I have found that if I do that -and tell myself I am helping them fix something and make the bad go away in their way -it gets easier. I'm still working on it.

I think... maybe... women tend to try to understand the feeling more -BY feeling it more -than men -so they can then fix things on an emotional and interpersonal level.

This seems evident to me by the fact that -in my experience -women tend to want to make relationships better (though it sometimes is expressed in seemingly opposite ways) -and men want to make situations better -even if at the cost of relationships.

(Ever notice guys usually don't work things out -they just stop hanging out.)

lol

In real life, people sometimes ask me why I am so quiet.

Then I start talking.

After that, they are ok with me being quiet. :p
