Why is it that people are looking for the one (AND) friends but if they're a non smoker they set there criteria for non smoking to message them. I realize that they put it in there for"the one" but wow, i wonder if they don't have any real friends that smoke? Is it possible to be that narrow minded?

It may be that's just who they are. Personally I think smoking is a bad habit and I have to quit soon. (going into the marines so It's just a good idea to quit now)

Someone selecting to be friends with a smoker or non smoker does not mean its a "judgement" call.

I smoked for many many years and my best friend HATES and can not stand smoke..period. And he made that very clear anytime if I was smoking even in the general vacinity.

It physically made him sick. So for some, it cvan make them sick, or they can;t stand the smell of the person/clothes/breath.

So you can;t see it as someone being "narrow minded"..they can have actual good reason for not wanting to be around the person.

As a smoker, I do realize non smokers dont want to associate with me, but I see it as their loss.

I am a true friend, and if they cannot accept me for whom I am not what I do, they are not worthy!

I don't not want to be around smokers at all, I just don't like to be with women that smoke because I don't want to be around it all the time. I have some friends that smoke, but I don't want to date a woman that smokes.

But he is your friend regardless that you smoked, he just didnt want you to smoke near him because it made him ill which is a valid reason (his getting sick)

I'm with you sunshine, shooo as a smoker I am aware and try to make sure I am not around non smokers when I smoke, but it is my choice as an adult to do so... can you imagine us making a stink about those that dont bathe and shower in perfume, tell me thats not toxic...

Personally hate smoking also and it makes me very sick. One time it aggravated my lungs so bad I was about to cough up a lung for about two weeks. However I too do not understand why they refuse to talk to those who smoke. I personally wouldn't mind being with somebody that smokes, as long as they don't do it around me.

i think we should just eliminate this whole problem and make smoking required by law. all the non-smokers would stop complaining, no messages would get blocked and hell if millions of people end up with cancer we label it as population control. now if i can just find a way to work feeding the hungry and nuclear weapons in there i think i've got something........

I'm a smoker, but I would be willing to quit for the right person. I'm not a heavy smoker anyways. At this point and time, I enjoy it though!

Taking one for the country! That's right :D Thanks for your support. As a smoker, I would have to agree. Just because someone does smoke certainly does not make them a bad friend, unless of course they push their habit on other people. (thinking back, thats how I came to smoke my first cig, DAMN PEER PRESSURE!)
