Topic: questions that believers are afraid to answer | |

I agree that Religion and Science are separate but I don't believe that God is separate from either....For without God there would be no science.

Religion is like underwear? You have to find what fits you best & give the other person the freedom to wear a thong or granny panties if they want to. Hilarious analogy. And a nice spirit of tolerence. Nevertheless, I can't help but notice how often undercloths enter into discussions about christianity... Puritanism resulting in an obsession with the forbidden? Fascinating. |

I think this should be at the top of every religious thread

I think this should be at the top of every religious thread Religion is like underwear? You have to find what fits you best & give the other person the freedom to wear a thong or granny panties if they want to. Umm, I'm not sure I'd be comfortable in either, but okay. |

sorry Spidercmb ..you can only make that claim if you existed before God .. Huh? So if he can't discuss things that happened before his own existence, then he can't discus the creation of the universe or even the existence of the universe because he was not there when it was created. In other words funches... Prove to us the existence of the universe and how it was created, but you can't use examples of someone else's knowledge of it's existence... You also can't use anything that you did not personally witness without being considered irrational. If you can't do it, then that proves beyond a reasonable doubt, that the universe does not exist... Better yet funches... Prove to us your existence. Prove to us that you aren't some program some software engineer has created to instigate perpetual arguments with Christians. The concept that Spidercmb introduced and you so quickly shot down by placing artificial limits on what is a valid and invalid statement is pretty simple. The concept of infinity is as ancient as human language. It has a place in mathematics, science, philosophy and theology. We cannot observe this concept in practice. There is no priori knowledge that this concept is indeed fact... Yet it is often either a component of or the sum of equations dealing with physics i.e electromagnetism, wave mechanics, etc... Without the concept of infinity in our toolbox, Astrophysics would be somewhat hamstrung trying to work out a scientifically acceptable explanation of the universe. Yet.. somehow you make it an unacceptable tool to explain a theology or philosophy... So you must be either one of two things... One of the greatest thinkers of all time who is aware of a new set of facts the rest of us are unaware of... or a fool. Which is it funches? |

Science is not perfect. While science and biblical words are in fact together in truth. believers always say stuff like that but never gives examples ..so "Kat" an example of what you mean would be nice but if you don't have one then it's not truth but gossip ..on your part |

There is a book called Modern Science and Christian Faith. It tells where science seems to point to a God, as an intelligent designer. It makes it hard to refute. It is written by scientist. Even now....science is leaning closer and closer to there being a God. Kat you said a book tells where science "SEEMS" to point to God ..."seems" mean the same as "not knowing" ..."Kat" just because something is written by a scientist doesn't mean the scientist dosen't have to provide proof when they speak of religion ...remember what happenned to Einstein |

Faith comes from the heart, without faith you have no heart therefore you are shallow and lost in a world of darkness

At least funches has a good question so this isn't for him but as for some of the other comments, I must apologize for even commenting, I forgot a most important scripture, Do not cast your pearls before swine right SharpShooter it's a good thing noone ever follow that scripture because if they did they wouldn't give tithes |

No matter what answer we give to this man remember that he will accept no answer but his own... You can never please a fool such as him because no matter if he saw God for himself he still will never Believe his own eyes, even if he heard God with his own ears he will not believe his own ears, even if God did everything this man asked he will never believe in any way at any time because of the fact that he has already made his mind up and has chosen what he want's to believe, and they call US narrow minded. geez josh I just asked a simple question no need to cry and blame the world about it because you can't answer it ...you clearly have a case of "shoot the messenger syndrome" ..so wipe away those crocodile tears take a deep breath and try to answer the original question ...come on you can do it ...just take baby steps |

Scroll through the thread again. I have seen him agree or be amazed by at least one person's opinion. Therefore, he obviously will accept an answer he agrees with; it may be very rare, but it does happen. well really I have to edit that person's post so the answer would seem rational because he was to afraid to say it in fear of being attacked then impaled on a cross by his fellow christians |

All I can say is; you would be mistaken. The book I spoke of earlier was written by scientist that did not believe in God. They were trying to disconnect the two. In doing so; made a connection. I cannot remember the other one. It also is showing promise. I will try and remember it. A true scientist will at least try hard to figure it out. I for one will not take science lightly, nor will I close my mind to caution. Kat Kat..what scientist are you taking about ..Dr. Frankenstein perhaps? |

The biblical picture of God can be difficult to comprehend, I agree with you. I refrain from saying that I don't believe it all, instead, I simply don't understand it all. This is the best answer I have ever seen in a religion thread. the best answer you ever seen in a religious thread? ..you mean that includes "google cut and paste" directly from the bible ..wow fearlcatlady that's blaspheme |

Yes it is...I could do bible studies for 100+ years and still do for anothr 1,000 and still learn more..... geez feralcatlady...I knew kids that stayed in highschool that long ..it comes a time when you have to grow up and move on from the mental fantasy of staying in one place mentally |
