Went shopping for garden stuff... just finished planting a flower garden and setting up a little gnome camp next to it. I love gnomes.

Oh that's cute! love I like them too :)
I got a large tree trunk in one section of the garden and I put little gnomes on it with red felt hats. 1 or 2 are female gnomes, so cute! One needs a new hat, meaning I got to buy some felt.
Got 3 of the normal type there as well :) I like a little playfulness, hihi.

That's sweet happy
I got a set that had two gnomes with fishing poles, a teepee, camp fire, hammock, and welcome sign. Then I got a little pond (they needed something to fish in, haha), and a little red bus covered in leaves and vines that has "fairy tale cafe" on it. I need to find a couple more gnomes but it's a start and was a lot of fun. The cafe lights up at night.
I like their playfulness too and figured it would help me with being a little playful as well.

Just planted some fruits and veggies... blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, peppers, beefsteak tomatoes, and cherry tomatoes. Hopefully the seeds will sprout... just have to remember to water them, haha.

If you can get hold of peppermint oil, or anything peppermint smelling, you can use that. I've gotten rid of hundreds of ants that I discovered coming in at the front through a tiny opening right underneath the window on the outside.
I poured boiled water from the kettle on the outside, hoping to get as many as possible, on the inside I made spray with peppermint oil and used that. There were flying ants among them which sux as if a queen is among them you have a real problem.
But... the peppermint oil did it!
It took some dedication, maybe add energywork to it, but it worked. Dedication as I kept an eye on it for days, and kept spraying for days.
Most insects do not like peppermint. There's other oils they don't like either, Google it. That's how I found out, haha.
Once had these tiny silvery slithering chit things in the toilet, these thingies that like dank and/or dark places, also found in kitchen cupboards at times.
Same thing: peppermint spray and they're off.
I usually use my field mint oil for that as real peppermint is more expensive.

Last year I had the occasional ant come in from underneath the front door. I believe there's a nest right in front of the door :/
Then I put drops of pure peppermint oil on the mat indoors that's up against the door. Keeps them out again.
Most insects are sensitive to smells. Like the silvery slithering things, if the smell in a room isn't right they cannot even mate.

Hope I didn't miss this further back but Boric Acid!

It will send those ants home to their mommies ;-)

Thanks Crystal... I'll check into that. A Mingle friend suggested hairspray so I'm going to try that first, the scent doesn't linger in the house like peppermint would. I don't mind the smell of peppermint but it can be a bit much sometimes.

Glad it worked for you flowerforyou

It's diluted in water, just a few drops. For them that's enough to do a runner, they're far more sensitive than we are, like all animals.
But maybe the hairspray works for you.

I'm not sure if the hairspray will work but I figured I'd try it. It's less time consuming as well. If it doesn't work, I will try the peppermint. With the weather getting nicer and having a work schedule, plus household responsibilities to contend with I want something quick and easy so I can spend my spare time playing. :)
