I'm wondering why it seems to be so difficult to:

...treat other people with dignity and respect.
...allow others to be different from you.
...afford others the benefit of their own unique perspective.
...be civil to others you don't know.
...allow others to be something other than what you have decided they should be.
...allow others to think differently than you do.
...allow others to believe differently than you do.
...be courteous first.
...understand that others may not understand things as well as you do.
...accept that you might not be the standard that others want to imitate.
...accept that you might not have all the information needed on a given subject.

Thinking...

I'm me, imperfections and all. If a person cannot accept that, then what makes a person think I would ever be willing to change *just for* him or her?
