Topic: Flaws/Quirks as Dealbreakers | |
---|---|
Aside from the obvious dealbreakers (like being a serial killer or rapist), what personality quirks do you consider a dealbreaker in a relationship?
I think most of us would agree on cheating, though I do know of some who carry on anyway. Not me. It would be game over. See ya. Sayanara. Get lost. But what others? For me, I'm not sure. I would know it when I see it. Or this thread might jog my memory. Generally, I'm pretty flexible, and can adapt. But that has taken years of work and practice. Maybe 20 years ago I would have drawn some very clear lines in the sand. Now I have a different mindset. So throw your dealbreakers out there. Let's have at it. |

bad, yukkie and/or missing teeth ---> me running for the hills!
guy biting fingernails ---> gross! poor hygiene not using deodorant (too many around who don't, quite shocking) BO broke cheap & not generous belly moobs, such a total turn-off... Rude phone addict (even in the middle of conversation or being out together etc.) gaming addict unemployed not keen on mustaches & beards no class not a decent car (one met a bloke whose car was held together by ducttape, I kid you not!) Young children, not a flaw or quirk, but definite deal breaker |

also..
serious health / physical problems... got approached by a man who'd had 4 strokes age 40. Very sorry, but not going there... Another who'd had 2 replacement hips, needed it done again soon... Not looking for someone who's future is bleak and/or needs me to push him around in a wheelchair in 1-2 years. |

Meanness.
Uncaring/unkind.Self centredness. Abusive. Infidelity. STDs/STIs... Poor Hygiene/bad breath... Obesity..... Unreliability....irresponsible.... Am sure there are others-ones you rather not put up with when you notice or see/find out about them |

Arrogance
Ignorance Abusive Bad hygiene Rudeness Irresponsible Stds I think a bad attitude is the worse ever. Can't stand the higher then tho attitudes some have. And if you aren't responsible enough to take care of yourself I'm not interested in taking care of you. If you get loud scream or hit I would probably take your knees out I'm not the one. |

Great job, ladies!
As I've grown as a person, the lines have become a bit blurred for me Not because I'm confused or anything. It's just that I'm not the same person I used to be. For instance, I always figured if my partner became disabled or mentally ill, that would be the end of it for me. I wouldn't be able to handle it. So, I would leave for my own sake. Dealbreaker. But after my experiences of the past several years, I now know that would no longer be the case. I've learned how to handle those situations much better. So now I would stick around if she really meant that much to me. Now I tend to take it on a case-by-case basis instead. |

You guys cut the knees out from under just about everyone here. It's pretty safe to say that out of all the "Flaws" posted here, everybody has at least one of them.
I think it's pretty safe to say that most everyone that posts here has some flaw that may be a deal breaker for others. I know I do. I personally pay no attention to the outer size of a person. It's more about the size of there heart. I pay no attention to what a person drives. What I notice is what they bring with them when meeting me. Who and what they are. Flaws are like buttholes, everybody has one. At least one. And I've met a lot of buttholes. |
