Not necessarily.. Wait until you are in an area than doesn't have a huge population..and some moron recognizes you in Big Lots (a chain here)...and comes up to you and says something hateful (because of something they didn't like on your profile).. I hate having a picture, but figure i have to. That sucks. Glad I've never had that happen. But yeah, if someone has an avatar (meaning a non-photo icon for a pic, such as a flower or a favorite fictional character), it gives a hint towards personality and shows some effort invested. So a photo isn't required.

it's not convenient in long run to connect with someone without face. I understand personality matters more than looks. we tend to seek comfort from outside sometimes when things aren't going well in life. so sometimes we lower down over selectivity and validations. ofcourse exceptions are always there but you can't put knife on the person's throat to send his/her pic when u just exchanged "hey what's up"

So a photo isn't required. San...I tried to do without a picture before (here and other dating sites)...to force them to read the profile to see if we share anything in commmon. Oh, i got a few messages, sure....but they were ALL asking why i didn't have a picture/ could they see a picture.. I asked "Have you read my profile? Because if you haven't...a picture isn't necessary..because we may not have anything at all in common..".. I generally got rude replies.. Oh well....sometimes the trash takes itself out...

not sure about them being trash. but generally people are adamant about it because they want to check if you are fake or not. but yeah it depends really, every type of person in the world have access to Internet and keyboard so.

not sure about them being trash. but generally people are adamant about it because they want to check if you are fake or not. but yeah it depends really, every type of person in the world have access to Internet and keyboard so. The fact they needed to be rude and used profanity to my asking an honest question, when I didn't, that made them trash. There are resepctful ways to tell someone you see their point, even if you don't agree with it...without resorting to that type thing.

the site requires that your main photo is of you not an avatar or flower ., are you encouraging people to break forum rules I wasn't aware of that. Must have been a change while I was inactive for the past 6 years.
