Topic: Twitter permanently bans Alex Jones, | |

you do have free speech on everything as long as Congress has still not said otherwise or as long as that speech is not endangering the public safety.
you do not have freedom to break a contract regarding acceptable speech and behavior, without consequences usually also explained in that contract. And with the exception of libel or slander, a matter to be solved in civil courts, not in criminal. |

This is the direction I fear the USA is going. Hate spreaders like Jones fire up people. And because of it, some people react like this. http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/the_americas/brazilian-candidate-jair-bolsonaro-stabbed-during-event/2018/09/06/d4f13876-b20c-11e8-8b53-50116768e499_story.html |

Alex Jones' 5 most disturbing and ridiculous conspiracy theories
"After years of public pressure, conspiracy theorist Alex Jones was largely barred from the world's largest social media platforms last month. Jones has spent more than two decades developing his own eccentric, often harmful, occasionally dangerous brand of shock-based storytelling, which he and his followers pass off as truth-telling. Now, however, Jones, 44, faces a reckoning, as many of the platforms that drove his success — most notably YouTube — have cut him off". http://www.cnbc.com/2018/09/14/alex-jones-5-most-disturbing-ridiculous-conspiracy-theories.html Conspiracy Theories Made Alex Jones Very Rich. They May Bring Him Down. "More than ever before in his two-decade career built on baseless conspiracy theories, angry nativist rants and end-of-days fearmongering, Alex Jones is being called to account". http://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/07/us/politics/alex-jones-business-infowars-conspiracy.html (The scary part, Some people actually believe his shyt.) |

I think that it is a very sad thing when people don't even understand the very BASICS of how our constitution works,as the lack of understanding of it is a HUGE contributing factor to the civic unrest that we are now experiencing in our country! [don't they even teach 'civics' class in school any more??] we STILL have free speech in our country,as nobody is telling him that he is not ALLOWED to say these bats**t crazy things... they are just saying that these things are so bats**t crazy, and socially irresponsible that we don't want to let you use OUR PRIVATE platform to spread these dangerously harmful things,as it makes US look bad in the eyes of the public. cuz,remember.... while we still DO enjoy the right of free speech,as I am sure that ANYBODY that has EVER watched TV,or MOVIES has heard before,ANYTHING THAT YOU SAY CAN AND WILL BE USED AGAINST YOU,and that people actually judge you by both the things that you do,AND the things that you say!! so,im sorry that anyone could actually believe that 'free speech' means 'freedom of consequences for the things that you say',but if anybody does not have the the grasp of that simple principle yet,i suggest that they go to the bad part of town, and start screaming racially negative remarks to people, and they will find some people who will be more than happy to further explain these principles to them in a way that I am SURE that they will THOROUGHLY understand, because, like mark twain said,... "a person will learn things by carrying a cat by the tail that they will learn in no other way!" |

i find it ironic that people who SUPPORT Alex Jones using
a private company's platform (twitter and such) to make known his views on a subject are AGAINST Colin Kaepernick's use of a private company (NFL football) to do essentially the same thing.. you can't have it both ways..unless of course, you're a hypocrite.. |

But the left is having it both ways. And I agree. It is the same ' platform" concept So why is Colin still allowed to use it and this guy is not. By your words it is the same. So why the double standard ? Want to be fair..let them both stay or throw both of them off ...but the left would put up quite a scene if ole Colin was yanked. Wouldn't they |

Six more Sandy Hook families sue broadcaster Alex Jones
This is one of the sickest minded stories that he made up. And many far right, mad-hatters believed it. "A defamation lawsuit has been filed against broadcaster Alex Jones, along with some of his associates, for saying the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, was fake". http://edition.cnn.com/2018/05/23/us/alex-jones-sandy-hook-suit/index.html http://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/31/us/politics/alex-jones-defamation-suit-sandy-hook.html |

Wouldn't they whoever the Left is...idk the NFL addressed the issue by changing their rulebook of REQUIRING the players to be on the field during the pre-game patriotic ceremonies and now allow them, if they choose. to remain in the locker room...if the player chooses to participate a certain amount of respect (standing) for the Anthem will be expected....personally, i side with the league and owners, now that this change has been made... Alex can get his own website if he chooses to, and i suppose Colin can buy a ticket to an NFL game and kneel during the Anthem if he chooses to...neither mans 1st amendment are being violated... Now i'm waiting on Lebron to take a knee on the first game of the NBA season, because they have the same rule FORCING them to be on the court and stand at attention during the Anthem really, i never understood why the Anthem is even played at a sports event in the first place... |

BTW..where is Colin these days?...The spotlight has not been online sidelines during the singing of the national anthem..pretty quiet there. 15 minutes of fame is almost ....up I think that he is busy being the spokesperson for NIKE,and making all of those commercials that take his message to MILIONS of people all over the world, whether they happen to be watching a football game,or not. cuz, when you have a message like his,AND a somebody like NIKE gives you a platform to spread it from, sometimes you have to occasionally miss a football game!! [that's just what happens when you have the capability to keep your eyes on THE BIG PICTURE,and don't let yourself get distracted by all of the small minded, petty people who don't have a message worth listening to!] #thinkbigpicture! |

Nike Benefits, Nike should pay. so what? And again, what media covers is not a reflection on what individuals choose to do to make a difference, so where he is 'seen' is not my concern. He does not have to do it the way you or I or any one else dictates he should, as long as he does SOMETHING. so, I cant wait to see the other ways he continues to make differences in the lives of those less fortunate, even possibly with some of what he was paid to be a spokesperson for Nike. |
