ONE of your problems is that it appears that you are ONLY relying on strictly partisan sources for your news,which are clearly designed to evoke your emotional responses to manipulate you,instead of informing you of the facts. instead of networks like THOSE,you should be viewing the REPUTABLE non-partisan news shows that aren't forced to appear on cable channels,instead of on regular networks,where they have to report the ACTUAL FACTS,and don't take sides,as they are only interested in reporting THE TRUTH,and not partisan opinions masquerading as the truth. and,if for some reason,you don't want to watch the big 3 [ABC,NBC,CBS],just tune into BBC,which doesn't have any dogs in this fight,and can give you their honest,and detached view of what the rest of the world can plainly see is going on. you might not like what you hear on them,but at least THEN you will have the actual facts,instead of just opinions. |

I wasnt there. But according to the OP, a mistake about a photo is one thing, maybe not a big thing excepting that news sources are expected to review what they air before they air it and to definitely be posting the right picture of the right person. that being said, the mistake is not as newsworthy as the excuse that they were using a photo that does not appear to actually exist ... that just sounds like LYING. that is why I included that part of the story,along with a link to confirm it,instead of just making fun of them for making a mistake. the fact that they are so lax on fact checking things that they could allow a major mistake like that to happen IS important,since it shows their incompetence,but the fact that they made a mistake isn't nearly as important as the fact that,then,they DELIBERATELY lied about something instead of telling the truth,which proves that they can not be trusted to tell the truth,and that they should not be considered a valid news source. cuz,if they would openly lie about something like THAT,who knows what else they might be lying to their viewers about! THAT is what makes this story truly newsworthy! |

I've watched both, and I know for a fact that NBC has, does and will continue to cherry pick the news. And I know to never believe what an HD rider has to say.(Unless of course, I want to hear some wild story that is fiction)
I take all reported news with a grain of salt. But, I pay attention to what is happening in this country. And I strongly feel that we wouldn't be in the USA now, had ol'hil been elected. We'd have been in limbo, in the dark, and shooting at the libs. |

Fox never calls Trump on it (although they have called the same tactic if done by Obama or Kerry "waffling" or "flip-flopping"), and of course when CNN calls him on it, he just declares American jihad on CNN. Also to consider, there is the new coarseness that Trump himself brought into American politics during his campaign. He introduced things like dirty debating (i.e. criticizing his opponent through interjection as a "nasty woman" instead of criticizing her points during his allotted time). By degrading the civility of the position and the procedures, he has encouraged others to fight at his level. Obama is cited as not following his critics into the mud (the quote Obama's team used is "When they go low, we go high"). By Trump engaging in cheap name-calling ("Pocohontas", "Nasty Woman", "Rocket Man") or school-boy tactics, he is encouraging the opposing viewpoint to go just as low and petty.... but then when it is done, the Trump supporters call that "bashing". [but,this little faux pas will probably give the REAL news agencies and late night comics a good laugh!!] probably not the first time you thought wrong. the first place i heard of cuomo's ill thought utterance was on msnbc, and they were are laughing about what a ridiculous and ill conceived comment it was for any politician to make, let alone one in the midst of an election campaign. being well informed means getting the facts right. that's why i refuse to limit myself to just one source, or one 'type' of source to track down the facts of a story. listening to different sides of a discussion, debate, or argument is crucial in sussing out facts. police do it. courts do it. honest news sources do it. and, genuinely civic minded citizens do it. as for the comment about the assault on a reporter being left out...i wouldn't read too much into that. it's not unusual for legitimate news organizations to not make themselves the story unless it is a major part of a piece, or serves the public interest to do so. i fear history will prove you wrong. i agree that we should strive every day to make america great. it seems though, that the MAGAists are saying that america is not great right now, and i also agree with that, albeit for different reasons i am sure. ...all of which stem from the current administration in residence at 1600 pennsylvania ave.
