Did you know farmed salmon has color added to it? I just found out today. Naturally, it is a light grey. I suspect they try to imitate the naturally colored wild-caught and/or red sockeye salmon. "Color added" on a label for salmon and salmon products means that the salmon were given a feed which contains a pigment called astaxanthin. I sometimes buy that artificial s*i*.. The factory processed,somewhat fish taste.. kind of fish chunk looking stuff. The coloring comes of on your fingers. I don't care, it hasn't killed me and it taste good. |
