Topic: texting vs phoning | |

Do you prefer to text or phone conversation?
Can't you text whatever you say over the phone? |
|
|
|
How about both?
If one doesn't know if the other person is available for a phone conversation, then one might text, "Call me when you can." |

Both have their advantages. With the phone there is nothing better for me than talking to a sweet sexy female voice. Texting is better because when she says no she can't see or hear me crying.

It's also circumstantial - a phone conversation requires immediate response whereas texting does not.

I still don't know what you guys mean with 'texting'... I've asked before, no one ever explains.
What you call 'texting' we call 'SMS' and that went out of style, as in as good as obsolete, some 5-6 years ago. The last time I had to use that option, I couldn't even remember how it worked. Over here everyone sends messages via Whatsapp, and using that was turned into a verb "to App". But maybe in the US it's different and you still use text (SMS). If a guy here was to suggest that, I'd likely dump him, haha, as it'd mean he hasn't got a smartphone yet. Meaning he's way way way behind. So when it comes to 'texting vs phone', it'd be phone. But with a new contact I don't phone, I App. |

Some people prefer text sending; I m able to follow those texts as a "written conversation";;but I ask that person to follow the "conversation" and not take too much time to respond. If the person is silent....I text: see you next time//good night///you are busy!! bye(period). Notice that a person can have 2 or 3 text conversations at the same time.
A sound conversation is the ideal one. It's more personal and the person can't be silent on the phone. Both follow the conversation as normal. |

People text on iPhones, here in US it is a go. Most have updated phones.
Now Instagram and Snapchat is popular as well but I don't get into that because what you say is out there no correct button. |

Skype and FB messenger come in handy for long distance calls. But usually I prefer talking face to face

Texting I'm not really a talker

The only good thing about texting is the privacy, It is very inefficient as is using your smartphone for email or IM. It seems that most people are incapable of actually holding a reasonable conversation by using text on a smartphone. A little more efficient with a talk to text app but most of them can't get the words right.

I think when talking to friends or someone casually texting is usually the rule of thumb but if Iām serious about a guy Iām going to pick up the phone and call and vice versa

Texting I'm not really a talker Many people would agree with you and that's unfortunate in my opinion. There are many great advances thanks to technology but one of the disturbing trends is the reduction of personal communication. It's dehumanizing us to the point that conversation is becoming a lost art form. |

If someone wants to talk to me I'm just a shout away. |

I'm not much of a texter. I'll use it for a quick question here or there. Getting to know someone I find it difficult. The swritten word can get misconstrued if someone doesn't know you well. I'd rather talk, sometimes it's just so much easier.

They will text, email, or order online before making a phone call. Lots of millennials are the same way. Hell, they quit teaching cursive years ago so we've got an upcoming generation that can't write it or read it. |
