It was a joke. saying they'd have to be blind to message her, since I had done so.
But she loves me, so it's all good |

The thread is about people of the opposite sex messaging a person of romantic interest without reading the profile, ignoring the fact they meet none of the parameters.

Yes Brenda, sorry I got
I'd say it'll never happen again but that certainly isnt true. Have you had much trouble since you changed your settings? The downside to doing such is you will be in a position of always making the first move. Unless some hottie favorites you. Then you'll get mail notification of the action and can possibly message them from there. |

It's working just like I intended.

They consider it too much bother when nothing will probably come of it. I think the Ladies should take the time to read mine just the same. It will be worth their time. Still, I suppose I must return the favor. Do as I preach and all that sort of thing. As a man of my word I shall do so!

Hey hey Englebert, love the profile!! I am aware I'm not a lady and am not gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) but am willing to experiment in your case. Not only are you well endowed physically but also bankally. That's right I said bankally, it may not be a word yet but I'm working on it. I've currently added 37 words personally to Webster's dictionary and this will be 38(as true as anything this clown has said). Winter in the Caribbean, enjoys fine dining, theater, and it's all about pleasing the ladies, I know I'm a man but can't you make an exception in my case?

I see someone drug this one out of the dust bin. Well I look but right now not in a hurry. Finally found the filters to kill a lot of the scammers. Some get through but not many.
I've never had a problem in the short time I've been here with reading profiles. It gives me an idea of who is here, what their interests are, who's been here a while and not as much looking as being social. Takes time to learn a site. |

The thread is about people of the opposite sex messaging a person of romantic interest without reading the profile, ignoring the fact they meet none of the parameters. I think it does depend on the dating site. I'm on 2 reputable (semi) paid for sites. It does happen there too, but not nearly as often. And sometimes they have checked but have missed one thingie that to me is important. On a free site with lots of scammers and/or non-serious people you get it much more. That's why I'm not on free dating sites anymore. The paid for sites do help filter those out for a big part. Myself, I never sent a message without having checked their profile, but I must admit I mostly check the things that are important to me: Height, education level, religion, smoking or anti-smoking. Height being the Nr1. If these things are okay for me, then I read their profile text, not before. |

Why don't people read profiles before messaging? That doesn't bother me much. I can tell within the first couple of sentences whether they read my profile or not but if they didn't, I'm not gonna seek the dogs on them I accept that there are all kinds of different people online and I promote individual freedom so I let a lot slide as long as my freedom of thought and movement aren't impeded or trampled. |

Unfortunately, this is a daily occurrence. It is pervasive and annoying.
