Actually I'm campaigning for an
Architecture/Design category "here". I've loved most of the places I've lived, from beach shacks to ranches/farms, suburban apts, mountain cabins, etc. Aside from a refurb above a historical bar in a very small Midwestern town, I've never had the "loft" experience. (like those 80s bicycle movies). Although you love where you live (or not), ,.what other architecture/lifestyle would you like to check out? |

Penthouse setup in a big city would be a fun adventure for a bit.

A treehouse
|
|
|
|
A hut on water would be nice... Just not in a big storm.
|

A cave, I like spelunking. Stable temps and pitch black darkness.
I've visited a few really decked out caves for tourists but have never seen one as a residential fortress. Would love to have a place that has an underwater bedroom or rec room. A place that straddles a gorge with a waterfall running thru it would be cool. Maybe something embedded into a cliff face. |

A cottage with thatched roof, unless that means vermin, hihi.
And a flower and rose garden to go with it :) In the English hills somewhere. |
|

|
i have always been partial to semi underground on a scenic south facing hill

A houseboat.. It will happen again one day.
Lived on one before.. |

Wow, everything mentioned sounds really nice, I would like any of those.
My life long dream and what I always imagine is living in a little cottage somewhere in the mountains, with lots of deer and other smaller wildlife roaming around the yard. Definitely a fireplace and a creek out back. |

A 20,000 sq. ft. industrial building with heavy power, loading dock, a view of the river, and walking distance to a bar that makes good pub burgers.

A 20,000 sq. ft. industrial building with heavy power, loading dock, a view of the river, and walking distance to a bar that makes good pub burgers. Thanx, now I want a good pub burger! I always thought a single floor school would be cool to renovate. Use go-carts to drive to different rooms. Vroom, Vroom! I enjoyed watching This Old House and shows like that. Barn renovations always looked cool too. Love the look of Barn Wood for interior decoration (with wrought iron accents). I'm fond of Earth tones. Here is some styling that I adore While I like F.L. Wright's ideas I don't like the Industrial/Natural contrast. Something more like this |

Ah, the 'here' and 'now' distinction :-)
I have lived in a shed, I have lived in mansions, I have lived on golf courses and in the desert. By far, my favorite was living in the Sierra Nevadas on the Tuolumne River in the deep woods. Fishing/catching my limit daily (10.) I would try to sit outside on the high deck to read.. I never could, the quietness, the beauty of looking up at towering trees, filling your lungs with the fresh air..contemplating..all came first. I have never replaced that solitude and charm. |

Hummm a cabin up in the mountains with a big pond out back or lake... That is as long as I have internet then I would be set for life... Enjoying the scenic view and all the peace and quite......

It's so poignant to experience several lifestyles that all have their value, and realize "I Want THAT"! ...and even perhaps I want that, "again". |
