Sounds more of insecurity. I am good friends with exes. My best friend is a guy. I wouldn't penalize my partner for it. I would be a hypocrite. Yes people can be friends with exes. If the partner has an issue...it os their problem. They need to grow up

To answer OP's question, if you have kids then you should or at least be respectful of each other. Your kids should come first. If no kids involved, if you dumped him, sure tell him you can be friends. But if he dumps you and says you can still be friends, say sure when hell freezes over. Merry Christmas! |

CLARIFICATION: My new X-boyfriend wanted to keep in touch with hiz EX. I'm like NO because when they were 2gether I waz NO where around. So WHY does he think itz OK for her to be around in our lives as hiz EX.  Needless to say, I broke up with him because of it. Not right!!!

I think it depends upon why they are an ex.
IF they are an ex because you werent into it but they were, its best to cut ties, unless there are children, IMHO IF they are an ex because you were into it but they werent, its probably not an issue but whatever the case, imho, i think the EX has to be friends with/respectful of your new partner and any interactions should be in the presence of that partner and not alone together... |
