Topic: Pros n cons of making someone repeat grade two. Have your sa | |

Summer of 1986. December 20. The day that changed the course of my life. So apparently my whore of a school teacher recommends that I repeat grade two due to my shyness my parents tell me. Waa. Wtf. What everyone or just me? No just you. Umm not Gona fkn happen. Yeah it is, for your own good. I enjoyed school from what I can remember prior to this, maybe didn't like talking to teachers but liked my friends whom I had been friends with since prep. So imagine me, come recess playing with grade three kids when I'm in grade two, AGAIN. I remember the embarrassment and social awkwardness I began to developed as just a kid. So I get picked up after school.. how was school? ****. ****n Hate it. Hate everyone. Everyone sux. Hate the the teacher. And I'm not going to school tomorrow. It will get better don't worry! No it won't. **** off. I only spoke to one person in grade two and that was poljak. So the next year I'm in grade three but still hanging out with grade fours, my whore of a teacher who personally has me ****ed how she was even able to teach kids, cos she was a rude obnoxious fkn spastic who didn't like kids tells me I have to start hanging out with my class mates. This didn't happen really untill the end of grade five when my other friends started high school.
Kids are shy when there like five. My folks have said if they had the chance again they'd never of done that again cos it did change something. I think let kids be shy or awkward, they find there feet eventually.. if it weren't for that I think I would of finished yr 12 and done something totally different.. that's my story anyway. |

Op your right shyness should never have any effect on you passing ...
if your grades where poor different story ... but being shy should never come into play for something like that ... I failed second grade becouse I was talking in a school library... and the man misunderstood my words ... and slapped me ... I did not deserve that ... he should had never done that ... and my father understood that part ... so he came and got me and said ... you will go to a another school nxt yr ... I said ok ... I was very young ... and they failed me in two ways ... for the violence's to ... I would have never suspected in that kind of school ... when I tried to tell the librarian ...I was sorry that he misunderstood and that this is what I tried to say ... did not care an the damage was already done anyway ... and he did not believe me ... but should have never brought him to hit me ... |

Thanks for sharing. Yes, Public Schools can really mess a child up! I am also a rat study from MANY California Schools I have been in so many.
5# Elementary Schools, Held back in Kg, and 3rd grade. Why! Because I had "Life skills" working with my father on construction sites, Going with my mother to Easter Star. I was so highly educated that the school could not understand how I could be so smart and yet not be able to do the [baby dot this and cross that] and sit me in a corner away from the kids to fill out sheets of paper. Add in 2 Jr High, Let's do not forget "Carry" was filmed at my school and used my locker! Now if that doesn't scare the heck out of a girl I don't know what will! but I guess most of us fight the D v G. Kids can be Bullies and so can Adults they never really seem to grow out of it. 1# H.S. but I Lived on the other side of the city's, driving 35min to get to school every day. Torrance to Manhattan Beach. But it was worth it, I was not going to go to Palos Verdes High School when I could go to Mira Costa High School. But even at this school, they didn't figure it out so I breezed through school. Surfing and Motorcycle dirt riding was what I lived for as a young girl just enjoying life. El Camino College was fun, and so was American River and Sacramento city Colledge "The Mechanical-Electrical Technology" (MET)program. Along with later in life, OSU! That wonderful OSU! Figured out my gift, the gift of Dyslexia! The letters dance around, and turn upside down, they skip up and down to a different line playing hide and seek. I once scrambled all my words squishing them together but then a teacher who was a lesbian figured out a clue, she taught me to use a cut-out card and read one word at a time slowly with each word as I start. The 70's school our teacher took us out under a tree to sit and climb and discuss the world behind us and to reach for the world in front of us. So English and history, math, and science were taught on a grass field of flowers. I homeschooled my kids most of the time for at least 5 or more years, then we homeschooled my grandchild. No Public Schools In this generation they are way too dangerous. You survived that is what counts and don't give up, get into a great college OSU is one of them, I walked away with 3# Kids Graduated. it was worth every dime and every diaper I changed to pay for the tuition. Today: They have great Jobs! |

today? schools do not usually 'make' a child repeat a grade
they may recommend only in such circumstances it may be an easier transition if the child changes schools an older child may have the option to do credit recovery online instead of dropping out as for the rest of woas me I had a hard life blame my parents, blame my childhood I am not going to comment on |

I loved school
Had a hot English teacher, what’s not to love. Spastic is not a nice way to describe someone by the way, you’re old enough to know better. |

good to see that you have overcome such an emotional
ordeal caused by your spastic whore of a teacher and have become such a rational sane mature adult... |

Wow by what I read lots of anger issues in the mix of it all~~~
I can't say I had the best childhood experience in schools went to at least 5 Elementary schools 3 Junior High's one which was pretty rough...Had my share of issues which I was not at fault for all of what happen but had my fair share to do with the results... All I can say is one must own up to what happens in their life and get past it.... Trying to blame anyone one within our past for who we are today is bogus... We have the three C's to use in Life~~ Choices, Changes & Chances~~~~ We all have the chance in life to make choices to change our future~~~Never blame those in your past, we make our own future~~ |
