THIS SPOKE TO ME, MAYBE IT CAN SPEAK TO OTHERS AS WELL:
Does God want us to be happy? Sure He does, however, the Bible places much more importance on having joy. When we believe in Jesus, we are filled with joy and peace (Rom 15:13). Joy is a fruit of the Spirit (Eph 5:22)(1 Th 1:6). There is unspeakable (inexpressible) joy in Christ (1 Pet 1:8). There is fullness of joy in God's presence (Ps 16:11). Joy is described as everlasting (Isa 51:11)(Isa 35:10). (Neh 8:10) says, "for the joy of the Lord is your strength." One of Satan's main objectives is to steal our joy, because when He does this, He steals our strength. People who are not Christians, and actually some that may be Christians, are seeking happiness in the things of this "world" (I was one of them), when they should be seeking joy. We may find happiness for a short time in the things of this world, but the happiness won't last. In addition, if we are seeking happiness in sinful things, the Bible says it will only last for a season (Heb 11:25). While the Bible does focus more on having joy (mentioned 205 times), it does speak about those who are happy as well (only 29 times). It is interesting to note, however, in studying the "happy" verses, that only about half of them speak on how to be happy, and they all equate happiness with obeying the Lord in some way. (Ps 128:1-2) says we will be happy if we fear the Lord and walk in His ways. (Prov 3:13,18) says we will be happy if we find wisdom. (Fearing the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Prov 9:10)(Ps 111:10).) (Prov 14:21) says we will be happy if we have mercy on the poor. (Prov 16:20) says we will be happy if we trust in the Lord. (Prov 28:14) says we will be happy if we fear the Lord always. (Prov 29:18) says we will be happy if we keep God's law. (Jn 13:17) says we will be happy if we follow Jesus' example. (Rom 14:22) says we will be happy if we do not condemn ourselves by what we approve of. (James 5:11) says we will be happy if we endure. (1 Pet 3:14) says we will be happy if we suffer for righteousness. (1 Pet 4:14) says we will be happy if we are reproached (reviled) for the name of Christ. So... yes, God does want us to be happy, but He wants our happiness to be tied TOTALLY to Him. The Bible says if we obey God's commandments (Jn 15:11), pray in Jesus' name (Jn 16:24), and are in fellowship with the Father and Jesus Christ (1 Jn 1:4), our joy will be full. In addition, we will be happy if we follow the verses listed above. We will become unhappy if we blame God for not giving us things tied to this world to make us happy (i.e. money, health, a spouse, etc...). God may indeed give us these things, but if we can't be happy without them, then we are looking in the wrong place for our happiness. from: http://jesusalive.cc/ques118.htm |

Very interesting glad you reminded us of this. Thank you

A better question would be, do you want to be happy?

Does God want us to be happy?

No. If he exists, definitely not. If god, as described by the fanatics, existed, then it's power would be near infinite, and so if he wanted us happy, we would be happy.
Y'all waitin around on a deadbeat dad that ain't never comin home. Just sayin. |

Y'all waitin around on a deadbeat dad that ain't never comin home. Just sayin. That is your opinion not everyone's. God gives us free will so if we chose to be happy we will. If we chose to be unhappy we will. He does not force his will on us. If you do not believe that is fine but do not denigrate believer's feelings just because you do not believe. |

And God gives cats free will, and makes it rain. Clearly, biology, and precipitation has nothing to do with it. Cuz it's better to read a single book written 2000 years ago, and assume you know everything.

Just like a typical non believer. Makes no sense!

You have no evidence Please read the Topic: Evidence for the existence of God Or you could read my topic "God is NOT a loving god." Which I posted about a decade ago. It's got 2 parts cuz the first one got 999 replies, and the thread auto-locked and created a second one. Over a thousand replies overall, and not one shred of evidence. Whenever religious people claim "evidence" it's always subjective, heresay, speculation.etc. Even Jordan Peterson claimed to have evidence of existence, but in the video he just spewed a bunch of BS, then patted himself on the back. I forget what he said, but it was something akin to "he exists because we exist, and what other answer do we need?" and all the sheeple started clapping, and I'm like, "Wtf.. really..? How dumb can people be.. ". There is something woefully wrong in a society with the amount of knowledge access, and communication resources we have openly available to us, where there's still this many people that refuse to question anything, and/or just 100% accept the first answer they're given, regardless of how insurmountably stupid it is.. |

Science did not mentioned evidence that God does not exist
Robert Nelson (1944 – December 15, 2018) wrote: A number of scientists, such as Francis Collins, director of the U.S. National Institutes of Health, “see no conflict between believing in God and accepting the contemporary theory of evolution,” as the American Association for the Advancement of Science points out. For my part, the most recent developments in evolutionary biology have increased the probability of a god. Aleksey, a scientist and astronomy professor at the University of California, answered a question: Why did the universe emerge? He said: We got the Nobel Prizes, 2011, because we discovered that dark energy is what leads to the expansion of the universe and this expansion continues according to the laws of physics, but scientists cannot answer who created these laws nor the question: Why did the universe appear? The Quran mentioned that: ‘We have made the heavens with Our own hands and We expanded it.’ Was the Prophet Muhammed, Astronomer with modern devices and spacecraft to prove this in the Quran according to the denial of the existence of God? |

You can't simply replace facts with convenience. But that's what religion has been doing for centuries. Can't explain something, must be cuz God did it. It rained, God did it, volcanoes, uh oh, someone pissed off God by sodomizing his fellow man. Gaps in several billion year old history before the existence of man, obviously God did it cuz our scientists couldn't figure it out for some mysterious reason.. Could it possibly be that we just plain don't know everything in the universe? Could it be that we don't know yet because religion systematically oppressed technological advancement for well over a thousand years? But no, I'm sure you're right. A single book of scriptures written over 2000 years ago, by man, must surely have all the answers in the form of "god did it" and "it is not for us to question". Convenient way to make a real easy to control population. Use your head and think about it for a moment. Pull your head out of that echo chamber long enough to consider this objectively. If some bloke wrote a new God into existence today, just by putting it into a bunch of "scriptures", would you believe it? Probably not, cuz people do that all the time, it's called fiction. But a thousand years down the road, and a buncha morons would be following it like their eternal existence depended on it. New Gods have already been written into existence relatively recently, and already have literal cult followings. And what's more, your socalled God, isn't even the first. The Mayans, the Egyptions, the Vikings, they all came up with unique gods. It was a time of ignorance, and of the requirement to follow something made up. How else do you think they got thousands of slaves to do the bidding of the few? Back then, without some form of mythical God narrative, if you tried to make thousands of people do something they don't want to, they'd tell you to F O, or just outright kill you. |

The way I see it is it’s okay not to believe in God like you and it’s okay to believe in God like me and honestly I don’t need evidence of his existence because of my belief in Him and I would never push you into believing that he does as the same you shouldn’t tell me he doesn’t. Be warned though there’s the great deceiver who will always convince you otherwise.

You wrote some of ideas simply as some writers did. They and you haven’t any scientific evidence that God is not exists. |

God created the man and favored him over other beings with his mind that made him able to distinguish between good and evil. God ordered him to do good and avoid evil.
God said in the Bible: Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. God said in the Quran: And from among you there must be a party who invite people to all that is good and enjoin the doing of all that is right and forbid the doing of all that is wrong. It is they who will attain true success. God also warned against preventing goodness and indicated that the consequent punishment is Hell. In the Quran: [God will say], “Throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever. Who forbade what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions’’ ‘’The unbelievers among the People of the Book and the idolaters shall be for ever in the Fire of Gehenna (Hell). They are the worst of all creatures.’’ ‘’But those who believe and do good deeds are the best of all creatures. Their recompense is with their Lord; Gardens of Eden, underneath which rivers flow, where they shall live for ever. Allah {God} is wellpleased with them, and they are wellpleased with Him. That is for he who fears his Lord! ‘’ |

Be warned though there’s the great deceiver who will always convince you otherwise. That's another convenience based narrative. Kinda like how anyone that speaks against capitalism is accused of being a communist. Just a narrative intended to demonize and ostracize anyone that speaks against your belief system. Quite a few people throughout history have been murdered, tortured, exiled, or stuffed into asylums under the idea that they were possessed by Satan. Look at just how screwed up and fundamentally evil the history of religion has been. Believe what you want, but follow nothing blindly. |
|
|
|
Those who believe don’t follow blindly but by faith because without faith you are following blindly and faith is what keeps our beliefs strong.
