Also. More efficient muscles burn more calories.Lifting weights will firm up muscles in women. Testosterone causes muscle growth. Women won't get bigger unless they use steroids. Your worry about getting bigger muscles is unfounded. Female body produces testosterone also. And at the beginning of cycling season my legs look much better. In the end of season, well... they do grow. |

Can anyone suggest any exercises for thighs, which will help loose fat, but won't increase muscles? I do lot of cycling and have quite developed leg muscles, but would still like to loose couple inches on my thighs.I would be very grateful for tips. I hear this all the time the fear of having well defined muscular legs. What's wrong with that? I don't think you will have many think this isn't sexy and I think with this idea of thinking might be restricting one from doing a good workout. Let's thank our media culture once again. Like funkyjunkie steroids...those women are injecting area's of Thier legs. Other than that there is some good workout advice from other participants here. Had to come back in forgot diet is a key ingredient. Yes, diet is very important also. |

Changing things...the body tends to adapt to exercise and tries to save calories.... the more stuff you put into the mix,the better. Then pick one day of the week doing more than the others...eat the right stuff...at the right time,to have the necessary energy...find out whats your best fuel,by trying...my body works best with a piece of meat in the belly...salad...some apple and a bit of oat meal...no strange cravings, that leave me still hungry and fast digestion. Someone else might work better with more carbohydrates...it depends on your body and mind. Thank you Daleth! Very useful information. One friend of mind uses the same strategy. |

Thank you to all who bothered to answer! I got many useful tips from you. I will go on with my gym and cycling. Add some yoga. And of course put more attention to my menu.
Will see in September how it worked. |

What about massage, aromatherapy etc? I suggest hot stone therapy or Swedish massage, preferably with aromatherapy oils for aided benefit. The problem with an exercise based approach is burning enough calories is bound to increase muscle tone/bulk. Ikm a sport masseur, so perhaps my viewpoint is biased?

Just get a pole for the middle of your living room and practice while you're watching TV?

When you do leg exercises, make sure you feel your muscle contraction, feel the tightening and the pain. Exercising without feeling the muscle contraction is useless. Do leg stretching and half squat to tighten up leg muscles. You don't need to go out to a gym, you can just jog in place, jog but not lifting your foot fully, just raise the heel part and put the force on half of your foot like you are reaching up something and you tip toe, you will feel the muscles on your calf and hamstrings contract. Do it for 10-20 minutes everyday you will feel your legs tighten up in 1 week
