I think that most people, both men and women want to MARRY a nice person, but before they are ready to settle down, they want to DATE people who are exciting.

There is a perception that "bad" boys and girls are more exciting than nice ones. Guys yearn for the hot girl who puts out. Girls yearn for the guy with the twelve piercings and the motorcycle.

I think the trick is for the nice people to find ways to distinguish themselves as interesting and exciting people. I can't really offer too many suggestions but it seems like a good place to start.

women are usually attracted to the image of the powerful man , for the need to be protected , powerful can be equal to bad sometime ... that was before when most women were not independent and when they needed men by their side , things may change in future as women enjoy more and more independence ,so good men may have the chance ... Think it's to do with wanting a man that knows what he wants and what he himself is. A macho guy seems to be that, but the man Mark describes is more likely to really be it. And they are often very attractive to women as well.

What you go for (the bad boy or the well rounded man), probably says something about your own psyche. Hate to be a bore, but I read about this dynamic in a book based on Jung. Going for a so called bad boy (or girl) can have a lot to do with psychological projection.

I'm a mixture of both. I wouldn't mis-treat a woman, but i'd demolish her in the bedroom!

I truly believe that this is the balanced and correct type of man most women would want, if they were completely honest with themselves. At least, this is the kind of man who would knock my socks off, for sure. A discerning eye is needed in choosing wisely.

I agree with everything crystalfairy said. Also Im attracted to goofy and sweet. The only time I was ever in love was with a guy who was a goof ball light hearted jokester. Of course he pretty much had it all...but he was NOT a bad boy. That type would only annoy me. SO not attractive.
