I love that term 'physical imprint'
explains so many of our likes/dislikes/preferences |

many people are afraid of what they do not understand and many just have no reason or interest to step out side their established 'comfort zone' Hello there how are you |

One people, but different social background. A little love and understanding will make an interacial relationship work.

There is only one race that is indigenous to planet Earth - the Human race.

Some people are afraid of disappointing their family if they date someone from another culture. Especially if they grew up with strict parents. Some parents have even disowned their children because their child has dated someone different.

There's another thing I would like add to this topic. Sometimes peer pressure can play factor in this situation. It could be the person's parents pressuring them to have children within the same race or culture. This is so that they could keep the family tree growing or keep it "in the roots". The movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding is the perfect example of this issue.

From my memories, I remember even today my mom's words to me.
Look, my son, she is so beautiful, she has fair skin and green eyes and brown hair Honour has also fair skin and green eyes too, and just think how beautiful your children will be if they're a mixed race. |

Țt comes down to culture and what history some people learn

Interracial dating is one of the most important factors in making people understand how alike we all are. I've never let race prevent me from being with beautiful people. My children are bi racial and they are my greatest blessings

It's interesting to me, I'm raised in a area where race played an issue., truth is I've always been attracted to a smile, it was never important the color of one's skin.... My ex wife and I have 3 beautiful children, n I remember a time when someone said I didn't know your wife is black..... And I replied OMG thank you for telling me...... I would never have known! I never gave thought to it she was my wife and my first true love

lovely story Dot
its sad to me that people should see attractiveness as only skin color deep |

I think the interracial subject is even evident within races.
I have some black friends (lighter skinned) who tell be they would never go out with a very dark skinned black woman. They tell me that it is frowned upon in the black community, to some extent. So, according to them, the shade of black is a factor. I didn't know that until they mentioned it, but since then I have taken a little notice.. and they would seem to be correct. |

that is very true
there are people with 'racist' perceptions of the race they belong to,,, |

that is very true there are people with 'racist' perceptions of the race they belong to,,, I have seen it in the white community as well, being Irish, if you were going out with a Italian girl and she was olive skinned, you would hear a few " are you going out with a Puerto Rican!" so it would seem even the skin tone is a factor |

Thank you so much, very well said!
