Topic: How on earth do you handle a crush? | |

A crush can be a real dilemma, especially for the fact that it's usually one sided. Not to mention having no control over who our heart likes lol. No one likes to make a fool of themselves.
Personally, I never own up and if it persists, I hibernate! |

I only got crushes when I was in school.
In my adult life if I felt something like a crush I would make a move & pursue the chick...that's in reality not online |

I fully understand your problem. For all my own life, when I get a crush, if I DON'T hide it, I invariably end up making a fool of myself and drive the person away, or I make a fool of myself and they stay to point and laugh.
The closest thing I have to a plan of action, is to work VERY hard to hold back on the crush urges, and discipline myself to try to communicate as normally as possible. of course, part of my problem is, at this age, that I'm always too aware that crushes rarely last, and also are rarely based on who the target really IS, rather they tend to be based on how much I hope that they are who I imagine them to be. So I'm afraid that if I do let on that I'm crushing, and then it goes away, but the person actually IS interested, I'll feel REALLY bad, because then I'll do the worst thing of all, and hurt someone else's feelings. |

Hi Igor, yes that's the dilemma......to tell or keep off. Bottom line, we don't want to hurt others. So, we keep off and sometimes suffer in silence I think you have a mark of the character of a sensitive and kind man. You will one day a a Lady very happy |

I do the exact same thing. There are times when the heart is not so smart. Can't always trust it.

How on earth do you handle a crush?
What exactly do you think a "crush" is? In use the term is vague. If I use the dictionary definition, and realize it's purely sexual attraction for mating purposes, then how to handle it for anyone is pretty obvious. - realize it's short term and wait it out. - freeze. - realize it's inappropriate/unattainable and focus on the negative consequences until they outweigh the desire. - flight. - pursue it honestly. - fight |

It is absolutely impossible for me to imagine what any of this is like. I'm so far below any radar to where anything could remotely have a possibility of occurring. Maybe it could have been more likely to happen before the last ice age.

If someone says they have a crush on someone, it sounds like pre high school thinking.

If someone says they have a crush on someone, it sounds like pre high school thinking. If you say you have a crush on me, it would be quite understandable baby |

I got cruhes when I was in high school and college. I just admire them at a distance but never had the courage to approach anyone. I usually stay away from them fearing I'll make a fool of myself in front of them, coz I feel dizzy and nervous when that happens. They don't even know I exist , lol. Oh there was my classmate, everytime he approaches me I give him a straight face or I alienate him. I feel too shy and afraid my crush would know how I feel about him, so yeah I just suffer in silence too
But at my age today, I don't have crush anymore it's kinda schoolgirl feeling. I don't base my feelings on physical attraction coz it's only a temporary thing, it easily fades. |

But luckily, that guy (who was my brothers friend) had a crush on me too ha ha. He made the first move, as friends first, then he let me knew he had feelings for me. Then he became my boyfriend for longer time but sad . . . We parted our ways. |

My first boyfriend was my brother's best friend too, he asked for my brother's approval first before he courted me and we became friends for 5 years before he became my boyfriend. |

Well you know me, counter culture guy. And in defense of my buddy UML, I would say we've only given the word crush, a new name to prove were something more mature.
I think it's fun to say crush. infatuation, influence, strong attraction, it's all the same thing babe! It's the feeling of what may be, or not! So, go test that crush and have a great time exploring! Who knows, like in surfing, when the wave hits you it will CRUSH you! Vive lá amoré! |
