Topic: How on earth do you handle a crush? | |
---|---|
I got cruhes when I was in high school and college. I just admire them at a distance but never had the courage to approach anyone. I usually stay away from them fearing I'll make a fool of myself in front of them, coz I feel dizzy and nervous when that happens. They don't even know I exist , lol. Oh there was my classmate, everytime he approaches me I give him a straight face or I alienate him. I feel too shy and afraid my crush would know how I feel about him, so yeah I just suffer in silence too But at my age today, I don't have crush anymore it's kinda schoolgirl feeling. I don't base my feelings on physical attraction coz it's only a temporary thing, it easily fades. Same here msdolphin, I'm too shy to let that person knew I admired him. But luckily, that guy (who was my brothers friend) had a crush on me too ha ha. He made the first move, as friends first, then he let me knew he had feelings for me. Then he became my boyfriend for longer time but sad . . . We parted our ways. Hi Magical:) I believe it's in our culture that Filipino women usually wait for men to make the move first not women. My first boyfriend was my brother's best friend too, he asked for my brother's approval first before he courted me and we became friends for 5 years before he became my boyfriend. |

Yes, that's true msdolphin, we are still old fashioned in that sense . . .i like it though. I never experienced dating other guys, other than my brothers friend. Though never had many boyfriends, just because my relationships always lasted for long time. It was my dreamed to only have one boyfriend and ended up marrying but it didn't turned out that way.

Gone with the wind! A detour from the original course, oopsie!
Let's always remember we are a community made up of people from different cultures, backgrounds and at different phases in life. Never assume.... I now feel like David in front of Goliath, only this time with no ammunition lol. Well, at least the thread brought sweet memories of some first time love experiences lol. Thanks Rob. I needed that dressing up lol. |

If you have a crush and luckily the guy is also into you, that admiration if any of you has the courage to pursue what you are feeling then maybe it could flourish and turn to love And as I have emphasized in my statement culture has something to do with how an individual handle what they are feeling. Some women because of culture it hinders them to approach their crush as they are afraid to deviate from the norms. But not only that, it also depends on the behaviors of every individual how they manage their feelings regardless of the culture. So there was no assumption at all No need to feel like David and no need of ammunition either because there is no fight or war here but just an exchange of stories. Again, we apologize for the detour Isn't it lovely to bring back memories of our younger years where we are just starting to learn what love is and it begins with the feeling of admiration called CRUSH |
