Has anyone here ever been declined? I'm curious how that works, do you know they turned you down?

Ummm yep...I decline all the time...half of them I haven't seen before even in a nightmare...

Yes i have, the reason is, I take my friends very seriously. These are people I've taken time to learn, and they have in turn given me the same. Some forty people came here because i asked them to. They are very special to me. In the forums, you see people saying things like "the real world" These people are very much the real world, not just someone behind a screen.

Since we will use the "real world" scenario...would you claim a stranger off the street as a friend? I don't, My friends are proven. My door is never closed to new friendships, but it is not free. I have to know a person before i commit to a friendship. just me. jmo.

I have a new one on my favourites list today......never spoke to him before or seen him in the forums.....

I figure he doesnt really know how this thing works and is saving me for some sort of orgy

Well, I can honestly say I've never turned down a friend request. But I figure my "friends" are people I don't mind chatting with in forums. Maybe someone I find humorus or particularly intriquing. I don't care whether they are 18 or 80, you can never have too many people to chat with. Sometimes, it's better to get a person either 15 to 20 years older or younger to give you opinions on different topics. Get a little perspective from more than just my own age group.

I do imagine that several of my friends requests have been declined. Probably for some of the same reasons listed above. As far as I know, they don't give you a notice about a decline, just no one appears in your friends list. I would advise to try and remember, some people here just want someone to talk too and are not necessarily looking for a quick hook up. Shoot them a note and ask what's up before making assumptions as to intenent. That's what I do. Of course take my advise for what it's worth (free), I only have a handful of people in my friends box.
