Mass shooting in Orlando night club, reports of hostage situation, gunman possibly 'wearing a bomb'

A mass shooting has taken place in a night club in Orlando, Florida, police confirmed, adding that there have been multiple injuries. According to social media reports, an unidentified gunman barricaded himself and hostages inside the club and allegedly shot at least 20 people.

The incident took place at Pulse night club.

Twitter users wrote there were unconfirmed reports of shooting near Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Twitter users said they heard multiple gunshots in the area.

According to a reporter from the Orlando News, the shooter is wearing a bomb.

Pulse night club wrote on Facebook: "everyone get out of Pulse and keep running."

People took to Facebook to share information on the shooting. Under the Pulse club post they wrote that the attacker has an assault rifle and is barricaded inside with hostages. Others said that at least 30 people had been shot in the club.

"There are injuries. I am not sure if there are any deceased at this time," a police dispatcher later told AFP.

Many of reports listing the shooting are from overseas vendors making claims that the actor used an assault rifle to shoot 20-30 persons.

What we know

A gunman opened fire inside Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Fla., killing 50 people and leaving 53 others hospitalized in the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.

I wonder if hate crime is on the table or if 'ties' to islam and Afghanistan take it straight to terrorism

It's sad, and I feel for the victims and families.

I expect however that a certain group of politicos will use this tragedy to put another shot across the bow of our Constitution while standing over the graves of the victims.

One such recently even used a graduation ceremony to attack The Donald rather than offer encouragement and congratulations to the grads.... among other recent brainless acts.
