My parents , they were married for more than 50 years. They just parted when mom died.
It's their understanding, trust and love for each other makes their marriage wonderful. |

There is nothing a man can do to maintain a relationship except be himself. All those "how to" are nothing but what women would like to dictate to their guys on what to do or how to behave. Have you noticed those "guidelines" always come from the women's side? Men don't go around worrying about recipes for the "perfect relationship" they just live best they can with the woman they try to please best they can. It all used to work out, back in the days when marriages lasted more than 5 years. Now men seem to need to be told who they are, what to do and how to do it and all from the opposite and opposing gender, as if Man's blueprint was somehow erased and trashed in favor of a more sissified more "sensitive" one and when he shows how sensitive he can be he's shamelessly told to "man up". What mind ℉√©k! "Maintain a relationship"... The whole thing sounds like a military drill, cold, impersonal, devoid of humanity or warmth. If I have to "maintain" anything it won't be a relationship, it'll be my freedom! |

Both have to realize that the other is an individual.. Both deserve respect and love. Work together in making decisions and compromise as well.
The chances of a relationship working when one or both are selfish human beings...are nil. |

I grew up with my Grand parents and seeing how they live their lives, it just tells me that two people can make it all the way. Share every moment with each other, accept each others ways, have faith in each other and communicate on all levels.

This takes a strong and dedicated partnership, along with the physical stuff . A strong relationship is also base on how you see the person and accepting them as they are.
